I was first introduced to Cherokee by my wife and now late brother-in-law. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is outstanding. Ever time my wife and I return the area we always try to stop.
This place was owned by my second cousin, Aaron, who sold it to someone, who is now selling it. I find that to be a great shame because the building is practically, like a few places around muskegon, a historic place. The building is so iconic, it's one of those places that's so baked into my childhood, that I can't imagine muskegon without it. The Cherokee is like the Twedes restaurant of muskegon, if you're in a Twin Peaks mood, the coffee, no matter what...
