Great place to stop for a drink on the way to the Muskegon state park. Good food and atmosphere outdoor seating and many vegetarian options. House made for most things. Highly recommended. They will treat you like a neighbor.

The food is usually very good the last two times we were there the service was terrible. We got Waters refilled one time and some people never got drinks. the second time we were there an hour and a half and saw our waitress once was very disappointed in the service. There was six of us and we brought friends with us and ended up asking another waitress to help us because we never saw ours. they weren't impressed. The atmosphere is very noisy you couldn't even talk to the person across the table from you I doubt we'll go back for a long time

We love Bear Lake Tavern, specifically, their yellow belly perch, their blackened grouper, which taste just like it does in Florida and the wedge salad, which are some of our favorites. Don’t think you’ll be disappointed here we go there often and find it always a great experience.

We were here last night and got horrible service. We waited at least 15 minutes before anybody even showed up to take our drink orders. I do understand it was very busy - it sounds like management may need to reconsider staffing levels but our waitress was not apologetic about the wait times. We ordered an appetizer and it never came out until we asked about it, and it ended up coming out the same time as our food. She did not charge us for it, but that’s besides the point. I ordered a steak sandwich and it had 5 pieces of steak on it and about a half pound of onions. We will not be returning.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had in a very long time!! Not going back!!! Ended up at Hobos. Way more welcoming And good food!! Definitely not the BLT I remember!!!
This place is awesome. No joke, best steak (filet) sandwich ever, and I’m 60. Kristina was great, friendly service, and we were able to have our dog with us on the deck

Came for lunch with my family and out dog. They accomidated us with the dog on patio seating. I had a grilled walleye sandwich and it was the best I've had on vacation this summer. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. My wife and daughter enjoyed their lunches too. Service was excellent as was the atmosphere. I will definitely be back to this restaurant the next time I am in the area, or passing through.
