“It was so good that my boyfriend and I had to make the 45 minute drive to go back the next day and get it again. The food leaked in the bag one of the trips so the woman running the window took the time to take everything out, wipe it down, and give us a new bag. I'm usually not a big fan of mushrooms, but I'm still thinking about them 2 days later. My boyfriend recommends getting the shaved sirloin sandwich with the tangy barbecue sauce. I will be telling everyone I know about this place!!Vegetarian options: I didn't expect much as a vegetarian going to a place specializing in steak, but their veggie dinner is DELICIOUS. You will not leave hungry.“
“Becca was great! Got our drinks quick and placed our orders. Checked on us regularly keeping our drinks filled and the food was delicious. We Got the Zicks pulled pork sandwich and the simple chicken breast dinner both were good and would order again.“
“Always consistent with its amazing service and food. Definitely our go to place even with our child with special needs. Manager went out of his way to make our day and he didn't even know it. We're always so afraid to take our child to a sit down restaurant because he has melt downs. Those are no fun for us nor people around us. But when staff sees small kids they move a little more swiftly and it's appreciated.“
“Stopped here after kayaking the nearby river; the takeout is less than a half mile away. I absolutely love it on my first visit. The building and grounds are very impressive and incredibly interesting. They have put a tremendous amount of thought into everything here. They grow their own hops. Staff was very friendly, beer was very good, the farm salad was very good. I will be returning for future events.“
“We enjoyed everything about this hotel. Parking was easy, the hotel itself is clean and well maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The ladies at the front desk were so nice and quick, making checking in and out very easy, and answering all our annoying questions about the area. The bartender was amazing and delightful, as was the gentleman at the starbucks. Overall, this has to be one of the best hotels in the area. “I visited my home of Michiana & brought my partner to Cheers b/c I love seeing the progress they’ve made over the past few years—& when they made some new wings, I’m like, “put me in, Coach.” I also used to live up the road when it was under former ownership. I love them, and continuously send them love, but I gotta tell you, THIS is exciting & I have my own spots in St Louis & Jax, FL lol.We got the sweet n’ spicy and the Aunt Matilda. I was on the fence on getting others due to familiarity & craving what I know, but after hearing about the story of Aunt Matilda sauce & the flavors, I dove into the saucy experience.Aunt Matilda was a blend of many savory flavors and enough sweet & ingredients to balance it all out.Sweet n’ Spicy. Loved them & super snackable—even when I was full, I wanted to continue to eating both style of wings ?My partner & I wanted a little more spice on the sweet n spicy bc it was mostly sweet. She is not a spicy fan either. If I was at my house I would have added maybe red pepper flakes or something as a hint of, “oh hey there, heat.”That said, these are the best wings I’ve had at any bar in the area. I’m stoked to visit again when I am in town & try all of the flavors.If I lived here, I’d be getting these, in bulk, for every game & every function that needs some snacks. “You are getting what you come for at the Backer. I lived right across the street in undergrad, and I would go at least every other week. A definition dive bar- but during parent weekends, game weekends, and graduation- the place is packed to the nines. The tradition of the place is unbeatable. Lick the pole - but only after a few rounds.“
“Came in and it was nice. The lady greated me and then a lady at the bar said she liked my purse. I got seated and looked over the menu. The waitress was nice and patient as I tried to figure out my order. I got a Patty Melt with fries and a chocolate shake. It was ok. The bread was a bit harder than my liking and the chocolate shake tasted mainly of whipped cream. The fries were good and extra crispy. Thats my favorite kind. They were a bit to oily though.“
“I really enjoyed my time at O'Rourke's. I went to Indiana with my mom and sister for the weekend and decided to try this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food and the service was. Our waiter was really nice, attentive, and made sure everything was all good and set. The food was brought out in a timely manner and it was delicious. Highly recommend going here and it's a cool atmosphere, especially on a Friday night.“
