I first experienced Mookies at an event they watered that I attended, thermodynamics was great. I was able to get to restaurant and taste more of what they offer, and they are consistent, the food was hot, fresh, and very good! Smothered pork chops.....YUM. I recommend this if you want a home cooked taste without the work, try Mookies.
The carry-out-only restaurant is becoming too pricey for meal purchases. The facility is extremely too small. There is no waiting area. The positive side is the staff and their attempt to always deliver excellent customer service, which is appreciated.
I got the veggie plate for takeout and braved the rain last night. I got Mac and cheese, candied yams, collard greens, and the red beans and rice with cornbread. The Mac and cheese, red beans and rice, and especially the candied yams were excellent. The only two that I didn’t care for were the collard greens and cornbread. The cornbread was too salty and pretty dry while the collard greens could’ve used more vinegar, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes to get rid of the bitterness.
