Original Bread Basket Deli is a go-to spot for delicious sandwiches. The corned beef is a standout, with incredible taste that sets it apart from others. However, some find the sandwiches to be on the pricey side, with concerns about portion sizes not matching the cost. The pastrami sandwich is especially praised, earning a high rating. The freshness and size of the sandwiches are consistently impressive, making it a favorite for many who appreciate quality deli food. While some locations may vary in quality, the Southfield restaurant has maintained its excellent reputation for over 30 years. Customers often mention that the corned beef is soft, tasty, and more than enough in size, with leftovers being a bonus. The deli also offers great salads and salami, with many considering it the best around, even better than some in Chicago. The setting is classic and friendly, with attentive service, though some note that staff may not always seem very happy. Overall, it remains a highly recommended place for quality deli food and classic sandwiches.
