The last time I ate here was in 2017. Then, it was great. Now, not so much. We went for lunch and the total was $70.00 for whitefish and fries, a ribeye, One beer and water. Had the meal been good, it wouldn’t have been a problem. Both of our meals were not seasoned and were bland. We had to add a bunch of salt to attempt to make it better. Our soup sides were cold and were not even hot. The chicken in the pot pie soup looked pink and underdone so I didn’t even eat more than a few bites. The bar area was super cold and we did not feel any heat. Such a disappointment. Won’t be back.

Poor service. Sat at the bar for a burger and a beer. Got a beer (very nice porcupine pale ale) and a menu. Waited for someone to take my order, tried to get their attention. Customer 2 seats over asked for a menu, ordered, and received their order in the time it took me to finish my beer. Paid for the one pint ($7) and left. Very disappointed.

This is a yearly February tradition for me now. Great fish! And I got to meet Vicki again, who saved my life last year by giving me a ride back to the campground at the lower falls after I unknowingly hiked to the upper falls on a closed trail (several hours in 4 feet of snow). Good memories!

Food and service were excellent! The restaurant is on the water too! The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is friendly

If you love warm beer on a cold winters day this place is for you! I couldn’t drink it and left it 3/4 full sitting on the table. The appetizers were underwhelming too… skip this place and just enjoy the snow & falls.

A great bar in a beautiful location. We were kept nice and warm by their big fireplace. Really good food and brew albeit it is on the pricey side. It is well worth the journey!

We were here July 4th weekend and had a pretty unpleasant experience. We were famished after the hike up to the upper falls and sat outside with our pup. I headed inside to order - and was told that this "brewery" only had a single one of their beers on tap. Bizarre. I tried it anyway - not good. We decided on some food, since we had few other options, and it was really quite poor. I opted for the pasty and couldn't have been less impressed, but my partner got a burger she was reasonably pleased with. I felt like it was overall a tourist trap and didn't really care about the quality. An unfortunate case.

Were told about this place by a very nice lady who works at the Shipwreck Museum. She also told us about the Wheelhouse & Goat Locker, but it was super crowded.Thankfully we were seated immediately even though the place was pretty busy. The atmosphere is nice, very lodge-like, with stuffed toy animals everywhere and a big fireplace. Servers were efficient and very friendly.I couldn't decide between a pasty and the whitefish dinner, so I was just going to order both (yes, piggish of me) the server suggested that I get a children's portion of whitefish so it wasn't too much food. I'm so grateful to her for that, because the fish was a bit too fishy for my taste so I didn't eat it. :D It's not that there was anything wrong with it, I'm just very sensitive to fishy flavors and only want very mild seafood. The pasty (my first) was sooooo good!! I liked the gravy even though it could have been a little saltier. I really liked it with ketchup. My husband got a burger & fries, which were very good too. We didn't have room for dessert, but they had some good choices. They also have a little gift shop inside the restaurant, which stays open after the big gift shop has closed. The proximity to one of the main attractions in the UP makes this place a really great find, especially since the food is good & they try hard to do a good job.Kid-friendliness: Kids' menu available. Kids will like the little stuffed animals all around the dining room. Plenty of room outside for little ones to run around supervised by one adult while the other adult(s) wait for the food to arrive.

Smoked fish dip was fantastic. Wild rice soup could have been a little more savory. Smoked fish salad with garlic dressing was good. Beer chicken sandwich was terrific per hubby. Waitress was sweet but not listening.

This restaurant/pub/brewery? was located next to the Upper Falls parking lot, which was a nice surprise as it saved another drive. We had planned on eating there and celebrating cousin's birthday with a couple brews and dinner. Service was quick but we weren't rushed, food was served hot and was good portion size. The rice soup was tasteless but that was the only disappointment. The whitefish dip was enjoyed, as was the whitefish sandwich, the bison burger and the veggie wrap. Nice break after the walk from the lower to upper falls on a rather grueling trail.
