My husband and I stopped buy hoping to pick up some bread from what looked like a quaint shop. We were pretty shocked by what happened as soon as we entered this establishment. When we walked through the door I stood off to the side going no further into the store trying to be respectful. The first words out of the woman who was working there were, “I can’t let you in here with that dog.” Since my service dog had her red vest with the words SERVICE DOG clearly visible on and all required legal tags I was a bit surprised. I replied by pointing out the obvious that she had her vest and license on. This woman then gave me a look of distain, rolled her eyes at me and shook her head. I was still standing at the door trying to be respectful but clearly I offended her instead. I’m a military veteran with a physical injury which has left me 100% disabled and that requires me to be accompanied by a service dog at all times. Experiencing that discrimination made me feel sick. Needless to say we will never purchase anything from this establishment.

I have a physical disability and need a service dog. My husband and I went into Crooked Tree Breadworks to pick up some Artisan bread, it looked like a quai little shop. So wrong! They practice active discrimination. When we entered the store I stood right by the door and did not go any further. The first words out of the woman who was working were, "I can't let you have that dog in here." My service dog was wearing her vest and had her proper license attached to her vest. I replied politely pointing out that she had her vest on and her license was attached. I then pointed to the obvious remind her that I was at the door not going any further. This woman gave me the most hateful look accompanied by her eyes rolling and shaking her head. The most ridiculous thing was that my service dog is a 9 pound Chihuahua, that I was holding. I have to take my service dog everywhere I go because of my injuries. I am a military veteran and had my spine broken. I have a lot of metal and electronic devices that are sewn into my spinal cord now. When there is an issue such as the battery dying she alerts me. She also alerts me when its time to take my medication and she gets help when I fall. I highly advise the people who work there to ask questions and observe what's happening prior to being so incredibly rude. If someone has a service dog with them clearly there is a reason. My family and I will never purchase anything from the Crooked Tree Breadworks establishment.

Stopped in to Crooked Tree just to see what they were about. Ordered the Parmesan Pepper roll, took a bite in the parking lot, went right back in to order the big daddy full-sized one. Wow! Awesome place. Friendly guy at the counter offered samples (the Poblano Cheese Sourdough was great!). Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookie was delicious. Will definitely be back!

Extremely unwilling to be helpful. Asked for a French bread as I saw they were taking freshly baked ones coming out of the oven. I was told they were for people who ordered on the phone. So if you go there don't expect to get what you want...horrible attitude from the older women in a Santa hat.

Unfriendly experience. Out of baguettes at 11am as a dozen were coming out of the oven “for an order” no timeframe for availability. seems like more of a pastry

Tried a bunch of stuff as it was the highest rated and we often seek out boulangerie and patisserie’s. The best item we tried was the baguette, but it was just good for US standards and not great; whilst overpriced like everything else in this area so just expect prices that are in line with SF and exceed most around Manhattan/Brooklyn.Croissants that day: far too dense and tastes like Costco’s, not to be rude this is just the best comparison.Apple pastry was very very syrupy tasting, like artificial flavoring or something I’m not sure what it was precisely but it was way over the top.Scone was solid, properly soft and moist inside and ingredients tasted high quality.Sourdough was solid, they have a good culture going for sure and probably the only thing I felt was equal value for cost of everything I tried.Service was rushed and unfriendly from the older lady there, not sure if she was training the boys or what but we were the only ones in the store when we ordered. It was late morning so I’m not sure the rush, maybe too big a cup of joe that day? But it felt unpleasant with it being our first time and coming to try things / spending $40+. Especially if you’re gonna ask for a tip at the end for handing over goods.

The granola is aptly named. It is addictive--one of the very best I've purchased and almost as good as homemade. The container it comes in, however, is abysmal. I can get the plastic tabs off by hand, but then I have to use a blunt-nose paring knife to pry the lid open, all the while trying not to stab myself. When I close the container, I have to be careful not to seal it or it's back to the struggle with the knife. No mortal injuries yet...
