Well worth the wait. Be patient perfection takes time. I have a lot of cups of coffee in my day, but this one was one of the best. Not sure if it was the water, the beans, the roast or the preparation. I will be back every time I am in town

Extremely rude and combative management -- the assistant manager here is totally unprofessional.
We encountered an issue after receiving an order during late morning rush (we received entirely the wrong drink). This is a small item that happens from time to time everywhere, but when we immediately went back in to address the discrepancy, the line was out the door and the staff members were frantically making orders. Coming from hospitality industry and appreciating what these rushes can be like, we went to lunch and decided to come back later when it was less busy.
A few hours later we came back, explained the situation to your assistant manager and politely requested a remake, the assistant manager refused and proceeded to argue with me. This exchange held up the line for over ten minutes, causing inconvenience to myself and more than a dozen other customers who were voicing frustration.
As a regular customer who has always enjoyed the quality and service when this was Populace coffee, this experience was quite disappointing. My hope this information can be used to improve future customer interactions and can serve as a coaching & teaching opportunity for the Assistant manager.
There are many great coffee alternatives in Downtown Petoskey (including North Perk Coffee, and Roast and Toast) that are worth trying rather than navigating the emotional rollercoaster of the staff here.

Better coffee (and more knowledgeable service) than the place up the street. Coffee is from a regional roaster in Traverse City.
Place looks nice. Coffee tastes like it was made with dishwasher. Unexpectedly bad. I think the kids working there are just not doing their job. Maybe the one time I came in was a bad day.i walked outside and threw it away.

Did this place sell? They used to be great but now they’re roasting different beans. I ordered a chai tea with oat milk. I’m lactose intolerant and can’t do coffee. I’m not sure if they used real milk or they gave me a straight coffee latte but I was sick my entire drive home. Allergies are important to get right 😅

We came here twice during our weekend visit to Petoskey. The staff was friendly, the cafe itself is cozy and inviting. The lattes I got were delicious, my husband got the plain black coffee and said it was great!

The vibes are awesome! Made an awesome latte with oatmilk. I got it with no flavorings, and the coffee itself had great flavor. Nice baristas, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere! A great coffee shop in Petoskey.
