Definitely worth stopping! Everything is delicious and they use a tofu based creamy sauce. Flavorful but portions can be small (the tacos are expensive and teeny tiny imo).

Happy Taco Shop has something for everyone! Their gf/vegan options come in clutch and are absolutely delicious. I always order the vegan burrito bowl and it never misses. From the smoked potatoes to the pickled veggies on top, every bite is an explosion of flavor. The food is always quick and the staff is friendly and helpful. It’s also reasonably priced IMO. The backlot environment is so fun in the summer and fall months but don’t limit yourself to just those seasons to visit, Happys is open year round and just as much fun to enjoy mid winter.
Vegetarian options: They have a separate vegan menu but I’d bet a good portion of the menu could be made simply vegetarian by changing the protein option from meats/seafood to the beans and /or potatoes.
Dietary restrictions: There is something for everyone. They have many vegan options and a solid gf/vegan option that can be made soy free without the vegan sour cream. They are very knowledgeable and accommodating
Parking: Downtown can be busy, especially in the summer but there are 2 parking lots surrounding this location as well as plenty of street parking and a few other lots a short walk away.

Well I've eaten here a few times It's really just "ok" a bit pricey , and the combination of the sweet potato incorporated with burritos just doesn't sit rig ht with me. It's a fast food truck meal. Every time I visited , they only had certain items available to cook from menu..NOT good. .
Vegetarian options: Make it a more authentic tasting meal , and it should gain better reputation with the locals. Keep it simple .

Such amazing customer service! I was incredibly late picking up my to go order and the ladies working were so kind about it and made sure I had a hot to go meal after all! In addition to their customer service, the food is beyond delicious! It’s a rare find in northern Michigan to have unique, high quality Mexican food and Happy’s nails it every time!
