The Halibut was very good, but the beef filet was chewy and somewhat cool and the vegetables were cold. Not a good experience for the price.
Excellent food. The walleye was probably the best I've had. Our waiter had five tables, three four tops and two of them 6 and 8 people. Service was a little slow but I could see this guy was very busy and organized his tasks by priority. Bringing out food for the large table while it was hot rather than taking our drink order, for instance.
We were a party of four dining at Spring & Porter for the first time. The food was excellent and the service was great (thanks Jenny!). However, the ambiance was not good due to the presence of a very large group of people occupying two tables. The larger table had about 10 adults and two children and the smaller table had 8 children. There was a lot of movement between the tables and our server almost tripped over one of the small children. The noise level was very high. What we hoped to be an enjoyable dinner in quite surroundings was negatively impacted by this very large group of people. We hope to return to Spring & Porter but before we make a reservation we will ask if any large groups will be present.
I would have expected higher quality food for the price. The service was excellent, but $50 for a principal dish, and I expect more. Wasn't terrible but I wouldn't go back and spend $200 on a dinner there again...and that was sharing meals.
We always have the best time at Spring and Porter. The food is outstanding- the chef is truly amazing. Every dish is served piping hot. Our server Heidi (who we always request) is a gem, she is an excellent server and has a great sense of humor and customer service. Highly recommend.
Wow! What a treat. The caesar salad was unique and wonderful. Our entrees were innovative and delicious. Our waiter was OUTSTANDING. We had a truly enjoyable evening on a cold and snowy night. We will be back.
A great way to start the New Year and catch up with friends. Food, drink, and service was outstanding, as always .
Outstanding food and solid service make this one of our favs for nicer dining in Petoskey region. Somewhat old school steakhouse kind of vibe but fun and cozy.

Every course of this fine dining experience was a succulent blend of flavor bursting within my mouth. When I first tasted the oysters I literally broke down in tears. Tears of joy of course. When I got home my wife had made me dinner not realizing I had already eaten. I wanted to be nice so I tasted the food. Upon tasting it I immediately spat it out into her face and asked her to leave the premises. She was understandably upset, but I did not care. All I cared about was the flavor I had tasted at Spring and Porter. I haven’t seen her since. But again, her loss not mine. I think she’s homeless now. I saw a beggar the other day that looked suspiciously like her. I threw her some change. $5.27 to be exact. “I need more money” said the beggar. “Why” I said. “To go to Spring and Porter,” she responded. There was the wife I once knew. “Get in the car,” I said. We haven’t missed a night at Spring and Porter since.

As always, the food was excellent. Our server, Brittany, was outstanding. The dining room was very busy for a Wednesday night, but the service did not suffer.

Another great meal at Spring & Porter -excellent oysters and Halibut was great as always, and the special Cantonese crispy Walleye was outstanding! Service was equally good. One of our favorite restaurants in Petoskey!
Ordered a bottle of Caymus wine. Price was $105 on website menu. Got our bill - was $150. A 30% difference. I questioned and no offer to adjust. Just “sorry”. To be fair - at minimum - should have split the difference. Moving forward - keep your on-line menu prices current or don't post. Also - when you screw up, admit it and do the right thing. Honor what is on your website. Very unprofessional and self-serving. Had a good meal and not cheap - paid plenty, but lack of ethics spoiled it.
Menu was updated and full of options. Service was great and we were seated in time in a full house. We had trouble getting a pre-dinner drink at the bar, a disappointment. The wine options are amazing. Really enjoy Spring & Porter!
Food was excellent however portions were a little smaller than I would have liked for the money.
