I Love fishing there and I Love The Farmers Market. Nice place to sit and relax. I also Love the fire pit. Nice and warm on a cool fall day. And people are always so friendly too.

We love spending an hour or so at this Maritime Center. It has the Riverwalk along it, they have a farmers market on Saturdays. A huge parking lot. A snack bar, coffee shop. Its a great place to get out of the house, and learn a little Great Lakes history.

Me and my husband back when we were dating would come down here all the time and it was always beautiful, and then we would get ice cream at the trailer that is parked down here

wonderful place to come one in search for homegrown fruits and vegetables, we make it a habit to come every single weekend. It's right on the water so it's nice to watch the kayakers and sailboats go by as well as a nice little Pathway to walk. Lots of other unique vendors there as well.

The museum is a lot more than that. There is a coffee shop with food offerings for sale and the nicest people there to help you. As it was a rather warm day in the middle of August, 2020, I sat inside while waiting for a ship to float on by. The fellow who keeps track of local shipping traffic let me know that a ship would be coming by in about an hour. Perfect for studying the museum items meanwhile. In the Gallery of photos I learned a lot about the great blizzard of 1913 and how many ships and lives were lost. I'm a history n*** and a museum rat anyway so this stuff may not be for everyone especially kids. The Maritime Center is a huge place inside and out. On the day that I visited, there were tents set up outside and a group of ladies who were getting ice cream from a vendor in a truck right there. Also, on the boardwalk, families and small groups waiting for the ship to come by. Finally the announcement we were all waiting for: here she comes, 600ft long, many thousands of tons, built (somewhere in Europe) in the year 2000 something, destination who knows where. I grabbed my camera and went out to get some photos. People running around getting their photos too. Lots of excitement, I'm not kidding. Ship's deep horn bellowing long, pause, 3 shorts. That means Hello. Great Fun. After all this, I needed to check out the bathroom. The men's room is super nice, large, clean and modern. Very impressed. You can come here like I did and maybe buy a good cup of coffee like I did and stay awhile. If you feel like it, read the posters and maybe educate yourself, or not. I really liked this place.

The most eastern point in Michigan where I can leave a Google maps review
If you are visiting the Blue Water Area this location is a must. Locals go here to fish and boat watch. Inside is a great lil place to grab food to munch on and watch the happenings on the river! I have had many lunches here passing the time until I had to go back to work!

Vantage Point is a good spot to watch ships pass by and is great educating people about ships and freighters. They have bagels and donuts inside along with coffee, and there is a hot dog and french fry stand outside in the summer months. If you want to learn about ships and freighters Vantage point is the place for you. Highly recommend you come here at least once.

Found this place when looking for a Great Lakes Boat trip. Full of information both past and immediate. All thats going on right in front of you. Good craic with the locals who spend part of their days there. If you are within travel distance its the kind of place you would visit every month or so.
