wonderful place to come one in search for homegrown fruits and vegetables, we make it a habit to come every single weekend. It's right on the water so it's nice to watch the kayakers and sailboats go by as well as a nice little Pathway to walk. Lots of other unique vendors there as well.
The museum is a lot more than that. There is a coffee shop with food offerings for sale and the nicest people there to help you. As it was a rather warm day in the middle of August, 2020, I sat inside while waiting for a ship to float on by. The fellow who keeps track of local shipping traffic let me know that a ship would be coming by in about an hour. Perfect for studying the museum items meanwhile. We love spending an hour or so at this Maritime Center. It has the Riverwalk along it, they have a farmers market on Saturdays. A huge parking lot. A snack bar, coffee shop. Its a great place to get out of the house, and learn a little Great Lakes history.
