We are visiting Roanoke for a couple of days and decided to try Shaker’s because of their robust menu. Our waiter, AJ, was very attentive and informative. The Old Bay Shrimp appetizer was delicious and a good shareable side. The Grilled Chicken Chesapeake with sides of creamed spinach and potatoes au gratin was delicious. The spinach salad with grilled salmon was a generous potion. Try it with the honey-dill vinaigrette dressing. We may actually come back tomorrow.
My family and I got dinner here tonight. All of the food was great. It wasn't too crowded either. There are bird feeders bye two of the booths and squirrels came to put on a show. My only complaint and really not that bad was, I only got one glass of water. I like water and drink it while eating. Just the way I am. But needless to say, I would have preferred to at least be asked for more to drink, than go without until we were asked about boxes.
All the people that work there do the best they can when busy. They have great specials, the food is great and always fresh! I would just remind everyone when they are busy they get every order out as fast as possible, please be patient!
