The food was delicious! The service was excellent! The decor and ambiance was cozy except for the music. Very loud heavy metal which ruined our experience and certainly didn't match the surroundings.

I visited during their opening weekend. I would skip the chicken tender appetizer at this point, it tasted a bit more like fast food. Both of our entrees were delicious and I enjoyed the white cosmopolitan, but my friend wasn't quite a fan. Overall I'm hopeful that as the place opens I'll be back in the future!Parking: The garage is right next door for easy parking

Love the revamp; great atmosphere and new menu. Excellent cocktails and delicious food!

I love their chicken tenders. They are the best I have ever had from any restaurant. They are seasoned and you get a nice amount. I went once this yr with a friend..and will go back again soon just for the tenders.

Very busy, so i think the kitchen was overwhelmed. We ordered fish and chips and the fish was still raw and cold inside. Very sad.

Food was okay. Waitress had an attitude? We seemed to be bothering her by stopping in for dinner. Seems like the place could use a good cleaning. If it's dirty in the front of the house I can only imagine what the back of the house looks like. Loved in Rochester area for 35+ years. We will not return.

Had Andrew as our bartender/server and he was amazing! Also briefly had an encounter with management and he was so pleasant. Will definitely be back to this friendly establishment. Along with this the shrimp pesto is so so good!

Went on Saturday night, 10pm and they had a DJ and dancing. Not my vibe. Got a beer. Tons of people inside and outside at the bar. Im thinking the outside crowd had enough of the loud music inside. Seemed like a good spot for younger kids. Probably better when it's lunch or dinner hours. Will try again before it turns into a nightclub.

Was there less than 10 minutes. I went to use the restroom and experienced an awful smell deciding to look past it considering I was in the restroom. I get back to the bar where my girlfriend had sat and she’s plugging her nose and asks me if I can smell this horrendous smell and tells me it has to be mold. We thought maybe we were thinking too much into it but then we look at the bar tap… 100% looked like mold. Grabbed our things and left lucky no one had waited on us yet…

Love coming to Penny Black and sitting in their outdoor patio area all summer long. Service is always great drinks are good, and the food is always worth coming back for. Planned to have their chicken wings which I think are the best in Rochester. Well worth trying . This time I enjoyed their Blackened Chicken BBQ Cobb with Romaine, blackened chicken, sweet BBQ, Cheddar, bacon, avocado, heirloom tomato, crispy onions, herb ranch. This salad was full of fresh vegetables and toppings. Such great crisp and flavor.

I have always liked this place for their tacos but now they have a new menu and they eliminated the great tacos ! We were all disappointed

The food here is great. I love the tacos, especially the blackened shrimp. The staff however is slow and inattentive, it might be because they could be short staffed. The staff that is working is often in a back booth on their phones or chatting, ignoring customers.

Wow has this place changed and not for the better. My husband and I have been going here since they opened. They have always had great food and service. I wouldn't say we were regulars but have been there many times. Our waiter tonight told us there are new owners. The menu has been greatly reduced and some of the best things were taken off. There homemade chips were great. Tonight my sandwich arrived with store bought chips that were basically the crumbs from the bottom of the bag. Sad to see this place isn't the same. The outside seating is great in the summer but we probably won't be back after tonight.

It's your average bar and grill with slightly upscale food. We had Griffin as our server and he was excellent. We started with Buffalo dip, calamari and the Brussels sprouts. The sprouts needed some salt, there wasn't any seasoning if you didn't get a bite with balsamic. The Buffalo dip wasn't too bad, but the bleu cheese in it kinda ruined it for me. The calamari is worth trying. The black and bleu salad was really good, steak was seasoned well and the whole thing came together real well. My wife was not a fan of the fish and chips, there was far too much batter. The sweet potato fries were pretty good. The Nashville hot chicken description was very misleading, there was not any spice in it according to my buddy. Overall the meals were all decent but nothing stood out. But the atmosphere is great and the staff was all very kind and helpful. Definitely a nice place to come enjoy an evening with friends.

This place is very.. "top notch." If you've got rich taste, have a celebration, or just want to treat yourself, this is a perfect place. The service was great, our waitress consistently checked in on us and made sure we were happy and content with the food and ourselves. A single person, say a Burgers, a drink and dessert would rack you up to roughly $30/$35, at least around dinner time. Burgers will cost you around $15-20 each and most other things will too around dinner time - aside from appetizers and such. I ordered the mushroom swiss with a side salad, it was great. Perfect, the bun was actually kind of soggy but the amount of actual burger you get with this $16 mushroom swiss? Oh my Lord, it was so worth it. I was lucky enough to be treated to this place, and it's delicious. Can't wait to try the other menu options, especially the few desserts they offer here.
