I really enjoy Grill 111 overall. Their reuben hasn't been beat yet, and their fries are tops too. The Pear 111 is my favorite cocktail, then their bonfire bourbon. For dessert, the carrot cake wins. Steer clear of the French onion soup (heavily salted). They had my favorite seafood chowder but messed with the recipe recently - made it thicker and less authentic tasting.

Great drinks, great service, great food as well!! The only downer for me personally is the room size and the layout of the downstairs. With the bathrooms and the main area of the bar being very close in relation to the entrances it causes huge congestion when the place gets busy. It makes it super hard for the staff to negotiate and the patrons as well. Need a bar upstairs as well so the drinks can be delivered quicker and the staff doesn't have to run up and down the stairs so much.

Took my wife here for a birthday date night. Ordered calamari for an appetizer which was great. We both ordered the ribeye medium rare. Both came out closer to medium well, but we had waited so long neither of us were willing to send it back. Probably should have stuck with fish as that seems to have more positive reviews on here. Atmosphere was probably better if you were with a group of friends versus a date. We ended up at a table between two other tables with about a foot between the tables and ended up getting bumped into when someone from the neighbor table had to get up. Wouldn't say we'd never be back, but would probably stick with a sandwich next time.

stopped into Grill 111 after work this week for the first time, and it definitely won’t be my last! I had the filet, and it was absolutely amazing — perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and incredible food. Highly recommend Grill 111 if you’re looking for a great meal in Rockford!

This is, and has been, our favorite restaurant in Rockford since we moved here 9 years ago. We have met wonderful people—both staff and patrons—who have become friends. The food is delicious, and they are always willing to make adjustments. They have an impressive wine list and great craft cocktails. We enjoy sitting at the bar to eat as well as hosting a group upstairs. Grille is not a chain, not run by a board; it’s a locally owned and operated family business. Favorites are the salmon, the filet, and the best crème brûlée! It’s a special place where we feel entirely comfortable and well-taken care of.
The food options for entrees were plentiful. A lot of nice fish options and some red meat. I ended up ordering the crab stuffed halibut which was fresh and tasty. Our server was the real reason the experience was great, I believe her name was Cassie.
Overall a nice hidden spot in Rockford that I’d recommend for a nice dinner with friends or date night.

I usually come here for lunch service and I always leave happy. Their lamb chops have been on my favorite dish list for literal years, but their surf & turf goes crazy. The chimichurri sauce is fresh and yummy, and the shrimp were cooked so well. I was shook, I've only had shrimp cooked that in places near the ocean. Calamari is a must-have as well.
Aside from the food, the service is always really great too. Everyone is very fun and friendly. I've never had a bad experience and I've been coming here since at least 2017!

I took my wife here for our anniversary. The plan was to have a nice dinner and then go watch the blues band. I ordered surf and turf, she ordered a medium rare ribeye. The ribeye was horrible. It looked like it had been boiled and was extra well done. It also had a funny taste. She sent it back, of course, but wouldn't try again. We split my so-so surf and turf and left. Watched the first set of the blues and hit McDonald's on the way out of town. So much for a romantic night out.
