“well I finally tried it. I have heard good things. But some babies think it's over priced. My thoughts on that you are just cheap. I bought 1 cookie $3.00 a super bargain. Get 3 cookies somewhere it will cost at least $3.00 and they will suck. My one cookie at Heidi's was huge. bigger then 3 cookies anywhere. I am not gonna eat dinner I am full. “This bakery just keeps getting better and better. Fantastic breads every day with some alternating on different days. Where once there were just a few pastries, she keeps expanding the offerings and it's a delight to keep going back to see your favorites added to with new additions and creations. Truly the best bakery in Saginaw. No other bakery currently measures up to The Bread Gal, because there's no mass production involved. She bakes a limited quantity and the quality is top notch. What a neighborhood bakery is supposed to be.“

They’ve got the hundred year-old table, a couple of recipes, great lunch, specials, and starting next week breakfast!I picked up a bakers dozen and tried number of different donuts. I highly recommend stopping in here. They’re not cheap, but worth every penny.“
“Vargas bread and sons tortillas is the best and wonderful place to get your tortilla bread from and flower bread and they also make cakes cookies pies and etc. look them up I'm from Michigan where they make the tort bread I was raised up on it“
“I had a business meeting in Saginaw from Lansing and decided at the last minute to grab some baked goods to share. Google maps gave me some choices of stops along the way, and Maria Elena's grabbed my attention. I am so glad I stopped! These goodies were so tasty!! She had four different flavors of empanadas ❤️ and the cookies were amazing. Everything was very affordable. I will stop again.“
“My sister in law got cookies from here several years ago and they were amazing! Since then whenever I come to town I try to bring home cookies or their amazing banana cupcakes! Just wish they were opened longer hours on Saturday sometimes hard to get cookies due to limited hours. Highly recommend ?“
“i grew up on tortillas hand made by my great aunt. she has gotten older now and only makes them on occasion, thankfully this bakery has absolutely amazing tortillas that put store bought “corporate” tortillas to shame. i live in lansing and buy 5 packs at a time then freeze them, i don’t know what i’d do without this place.“
