Good food, friendly staff, was a faithful customer every weekend for years as am local.Noticed restaurant has been closed since 8/24/2020. Lots of rumors, but was very busy this summer, even with pandemic. Noticed big trailer in back loading kitchen fixtures or food. Will be missed on the west us2 corridor, as big boy and truck stop are only 2 restaurants with sit down and reasonable prices in area.
Meal was great. Service was great. The waitress said we were the last customer to done in. They were closing for good. She found out just this morning. I hate owners like that!
Not what it once was! Still good for a quick bite. Better than the alternatives on a Sunday afternoon.
Good food reasonable prices and friendly staff
Horrid! Everyone was so confused and they had full staff. Never have i warned anyone walking into a restaurant that there would be an hour wait with full staff for sub par breakfast (of all easy the easiest meals!. should've gotten up and went next door to the truck stop! just wanted yo give the old Big Boy a try. never again!
What kind of restaurant has a monopoly on sit down dining in a vacation town packed full, and shuts down before dinner time? What a complete joke. They deserve to go out of buisness. This town as a whole seems very cold to travelers which is surprising, because tourism seems to be the major industry. Pathetic.
service very slow, portion to price ratio disgustingly low (very high price very small portions) food quality 1 step above McDonald's, should've waited the hour to eat at Clyde's across the street. Way better quality and bigger portions. will not ear here again.
Six empty tables open. Tons of people at the door. No staff acknowledging them. Everyone working seems clueless and very unconcerned about the customers.
They're taking proper precautions for the coronavirus. Server was engaging but not overwhelming. Breakfast served pretty quickly, though toast and some entrees were no longer warm. TVs all tuned to Fox News - ugh.
Tried to eat there tonight with my family after being on the road since 6am and being on vacation it was also my wife's birthday We get there and when we walked in the door the hostess informed us that they were already closed even though it was 15 minutes until their posted closing time. The reason we were given was that they had long wait times on food. It's always been my understanding that restaurants were required to seat people and take their orderes up until their posted closing times. Very poor customer service in my opinion. Will not ever be going back to this Big Boy

Very good service considered they were spacing tables apart. There was a wait each time we went but only about 20 minutes. Food was delicious at least for big boy standards.Staff was super friendly and helpful for us out of town visitors.
We expect a little longer wait during Covid-19, but this was ridiculous. Over a half hour. Tables washed, but would not seat customers (tables had to "AIR" dry), never heard of such a thing, use paper towels. Young boy strolling around, no enthusiasm what so ever, could have cared less that he was even working. Fortunately, we had a good server once we were seated.
Stopped by for breakfast food. Place seemed understaffed, with the host serving tables as well as seating customers. For this reason, it took at least 20 minutes to be seated. Once we ordered, however, the order was delivered promptly. The pancakes, eggs, and bacon I ordered tasted great. Restaurant wasn’t super clean, but not too bad.
McKenzie ( I apologize if I spelled her name wrong) was a PHENOMENAL server for it to only be her second day on the floor by her self!! ... my family and I stopped by for brunch/ lunch on our way home from vacation. She was so sweet, very attentive, and communicated very well. She even brought us fruit cups for waiting so long on our food. She will go far in this industry. Thank you for making our experience fantastic.. because finding good service in this town is hard to come by! McKenzie if you ever wanna work in a big city... message me I’ll get you jobs in Chicago!
I generally don't write negative reviews. This review is for a restaurant that should never have been open with the untrained staff that was working. I would have closed and immediately done training even though it was 4th of July weekend. The staff obviously were mostly new and untrained. Customers were leaving in droves. Almost nobody was served and the food was setting on the window getting cold. We waited 40 minutes while 7 people were seated. Then we were told again that it would be another half hour at least. The ownership should be ashamed of themselves.
