Drove by this place on my way to Lake Superior. As an Englishman I had to go in and try a pasty. The beef pasty was excellent with firm pastry and a tasty filling. An unexpected taste of home!
Lehto's makes amazing pasties and definitely worth the stop. I bought a hot one for the road and 3 additional frozen beef pasties for my family to enjoy later that evening. The guy at the counter was very friendly & helpful too.
I've had several pasties, I get one each time I go to the UP. This was the best I've had so far. The pastry was soft and flaky and the fillings were generous and flavored to perfection. The ultimate comfort food!
