Restaurantji's Saint Johns guide: Where to find the best Mexican flavors.
“My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon after hiking nearby. We ordered tacos and beans and rice to go. It wasn't busy and we sat at a booth (it's very small for eat in so if it's busy you may want to grab it to go) to wait for our food. It took a bit but there was a large order ahead of us so it was as expected. The food was excellent and the service as good. I did receive an incorrect order but decided not to get it exchanged. I had asked for no cilantro because I have that genetic issue where it tastes soapy but instead I believe there was a miscommunication because I received extra cilantro. Again, I decided not to worry about fixing it because we needed to head toward home to deal with an emergency. I trust they would have taken care of it without a problem. I didn't get pictures because we were in a hurry. My husband got the asada tacos and I got the el pastor and the carnitas. They were all yummy and I would say the carnitas tacos were exceptional. It's worth a stop and they have an extensive menu.“
“Today was our first visit to Cancun, in St. Johns. We were greeted and seated immediately. Walking in we were all commenting on how good it smelled already. The staff is very welcoming and attentive, the restaurant is clean. The food was amazing! Hot, fast, delish and plenty of it! Our table ordered two different quesadilla and two different chimichanga dinners. The quesadillas are the largest I've seen. The menu picture doesn't do it justice. The tortilla is huge. Knife and fork size; you aren't picking this up with your hands. The chimis were crisp, stuffed full. The cheese sauce they use on the chimis is the best - mellow, creamy. Chips and salsa were great, the chips were warm and not too salty. We're looking forward to returning to try more menu items. Ooh, almost forgot...margarita, lime on the rocks! Yes, please. Perfectly balanced with real ingredients.“
“Food was good and as ordered. Took little longer than usual because workers are being trained(like many other places)so be patient! It was also at the end of lunch rush. Crew & supervisor seemed to be working well together. Our food actually looked like the picture!“
“Really good food- the chicken is awesome. Puts chipotle to shame. Traveling from California and cannot tell you how nice it is to see a small family owned business employing friendly young faces . We need more crave shacks! Hope to see you on the west coast soon :)“
