Good food with Chicago prices

The staff were amazingly sweet and all wished me a happy birthday. The food and drinks were an 11/10—so flavorful and well-cooked. My waitress was very attentive and friendly. The vibes were very classy and calm, but also down-to-earth. I really enjoyed my rooftop view and the full experience here. I will definitely be back again!

Everything was amazing, especially our server Jessica! She seemed so pumped up to be taking care of us. I was also so impressed with the manager who took the time to check in on us and all of the other tables around us as it was a busy time. Be sure to ask for Jessica (with the long beautiful hair) the next time you visit 221! You won't be disappointed!

Relaxing place for a cocktail.

Honestly blown away by the scallops and the Mexican corn with chorizo. I don't usually order seafood, but this dish was absolutely delicious. We sat upstairs on the half-and-half deck and the view was lovely. Great food, great atmosphere—highly recommend!

PS I tried the cheesecake and an espresso shot 10 out of 10.

Brilliant location and Ambience with great food and service

AWESOME experience here, we had reservations but made it there early. They were very welcoming, the waitress Jessica was one of the best we have ever had. We went for our anniversary, the staff gave us an anniversary card. This was the perfect place to enjoy our anniversary dinner. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I truly enjoy this restaurant. They offer some of the best food in the area, and the quality and presentation are consistently excellent. As someone from France, I can say this is one of our favorite restaurants in the county.

We went here for our anniversary, the atmosphere is so pretty and romantic. The appetizers and drinks were very good, but the lobster tails were incredible. Some of the best lobster I’ve ever had (and I live in Florida for a few months every year!) my boyfriends garlic ribeye was also just as good. Highly recommend for a cute date night. Our service was great, Jesica answered every one of our questions and was super attentive the whole night. It truly was some of the best service I’ve experienced in a long time, she made our anniversary so special and we can’t thank her enough. Thanks 221 Main! We will be back.

A quick day trip to St. Joseph on Valentine's Day had me wondering if we would be able to get into a restaurant for dinner. Hostess was wonderful and got us a table. Our server was very attentive. Friendly staff all around. The food was amazing; Ahi tuna for a starter was simply delicious. I had the Parmesan Crudted White Fish...and OMGoodness - where have you been all my life! Hubby had the NY Strip - so good and I could've ate a bowl of their mashed potatoes. Thankfully hubby let me sample his side. We shared a slice of NY Cheesecake with a Tart Cherry topping...huge serving - glad we shared but at the same time I wanted it all myself!! If you're in town, go here! It's a must!

We dine at this restaurant often, and the food is consistently top notch with impeccable service. Robert, the owner, is very hands-on—always engaging with guests, sharing his knowledge, and even stepping behind the bar to make cocktails. It’s refreshing to see an owner so attentive and involved. We’ve never had a bad meal here, except for this past weekend when my husband ordered the filet. Unfortunately, it wasn’t up to the standard we’ve come to expect—it was rubbery and not edible, but Robert immediately had a new steak prepared and explained that they were testing a new supplier. He genuinely valued our feedback and mentioned that the previous steaks were a big reason we keep coming back. I ordered the whitefish, and it was absolutely superb—perfectly cooked and served over rice with a lemon white wine cream sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We always sit at the bar and love watching the bartenders craft cocktails. They are personable, friendly, and make the experience even better. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in St. Joseph. Occasional hiccups happen, but the way they’re handled here speaks volumes.

221 is one of those establishments that never fails to exceed my expectations every single time.

The owner, Robert, is often the first person you meet walking in the door. His passion for his restaurant is infectious. Set aside a few minutes and ask him about Bourbon and Whiskey. He maintains a Whiskey “Library” with hundreds of different brands. He travels every year, visiting distilleries and adding to his Library.

A special experience is The Terrace during the summer months. Roof top dining, a quiet and cozy atmosphere, and outstanding food await you.

The food is incredible. On my last visit I had the Garlic Ribeye and even before I tasted the first bite I could tell that the cut of the meat was special. I also got to try a bit of the Chicken Marsala. Both were spectacular. A perfectly prepared Crème Brûlée for dessert rounded out the evening.

I would suggest a reservation during peak months or weekends. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season, plan on walking a couple of blocks to get there. Trust me, it is worth the walk.

I can't rate the food because we were there for drinks. First time in since the remodel was done. And wow, just amazing. The bourbon selection was incredible. The staff was incredible. Amazing experience. Can't wait to come back for the full experience if you will. Apps, dinner, and drinks.
