Bought a bottle of the Coppercraft Rye in Tennessee on our way back home to Virginia from Dollywood. Very, very nice Rye!! I will definitely buy this again! I wish it was available in Virginia but it's not, so will have to wait until next trip to TN! Again, very nice Rye...definitely worth the price!
With a name like "Coppercraft" that's been open for more than 10 years, you'd expect that they'd have their own whiskey on the shelf. Nope! Not only is it all sourced, but the staff doesn't even know whiskey. If you want a premixed cocktail or someone doing something with sourced spirits, this might be your place.If you actually like whiskey, go elsewhere.
My husband and I have been to over 50 craft distilleries in the US, Ireland, Scotland, and Iceland, so I would say we know a few things about distilleries and whiskey. This distillery names itself "copper craft", which implies they distill everything in house while in fact most of what they sell is not even distilled in the same state. It would seem only their vodka and gin is distilled by them while all of the whiskey is by MGP in Indiana or sourced from Ohio. The staff...
