Welcome to Phil's - where the drinks flow like gossip at a PTA meeting and the flavors dance on your palate like a drunken ballerina. Let's talk about the real star of the show: the Bloody Marys. These aren't just drinks; they're like Picasso paintings for your taste buds, leaving you wondering if you should sip it or hang it in a museum. Now, onto the grub. Brace yourself because Phil's burger is about to give your taste buds a thrill ride they'll never forget. It's the reigning champ in town, although I'd suggest swapping that Ciabatta bun for something softer - unless you enjoy feeling like you're wrestling with your lunch. But it's not just about the burger - Phil's has comfort food down to a science. The ham and cheese plate is like a warm hug from Grandma, if Grandma was a culinary wizard. And let's not forget the specials - the slow-cooked beef barbacoa tostadas were a flavor explosion that left us begging for more like Oliver Twist in a foodie twist. And let's give a round of applause to the waitresses who bust their buns to make sure you leave with a smile. Their charm and hustle don't go unnoticed, and as a bonus, you get some animal crackers at the end - because who says adults can't indulge in a little nostalgia with their dessert? Phil's isn't just a restaurant; it's a gastronomic adventure filled with flavor, friendly faces, and a sprinkle of whimsy.

The appetizers were good, really like the goat cheese croquette, fried portobello was good but overly salted. The entrees had a ton of cheese to the point of being cheese sandwiches. The atmosphere is basically dive bar, overcrowded and loud with unjustified long waits for tables and a wait staff struggling to keep up. I’m not sure why others rate it highly.

We stopped in over St Paddy’s Day. Even with all that madness our server was on point. We never felt like we were stuck waiting on drinks or the tab. We only had drinks and a couple appetizers. The Sangria was delicious. We got the goat cheese croquettes and flash fried portobello mushrooms. The mushrooms weren’t very flavorful and the dip that came with them had an overly strong Dijon mustard flavor. The goat cheese appetizer tasted more like cream cheese. However, presentation was nice and the entrees looked like they would be delicious- nice to see some different, out of the norm from your average bar selections on the menu.

Phil's is a gem. My wife and I stopped in for an early afternoon bloody mary and a snack. We got their hot tortillas. It's hard to believe we were blown away by 'chips and salsa' (for all intents and purposes), but oh my were they unbelievable. The chips may have been the best chips I've ever had. Clearly homemade and hot off the press, I ate them until I couldn't. We also got a delicious grilled ham and cheese sandwich. We sat at the bar and everyone was so welcoming and warm. The intentionally outdated look was charming and inviting. We loved everything so much, we ended up coming back for dinner! I got the whole wings, and the flavor was spectacular. Be prepared to look like a barbarian eating them, but I didn't mind. My wife got the scallop pad thai, which was bursting with flavor. 10/10 food and experience. Will definitely be back!

$36 Beef Pho? Small tourist town, you'll pay big tourist prices. I wouldn't trust a place named Phil's to make a Pho that's worth $36. Sorry, not going to take that bait. The fried chicken sandwich was mediocre. The menu says "crispy chicken sandwich" so where was the crisp? It was soggy at best. Nice try, maybe it was an off night. Who knows. We also tried the Sake Seared Sea Scallops for $18, the scallops were, no joke, the size of a quarter. The service was great though, cheers to the wait staff! Next time I'm in town though, hard pass on this place.
