I will start by saying that the food is really good. We got the smallest family style meal and the chicken and sides were really good. Now on to the bad. Waited an hour and a half to get in the restaurant after we were told it would be an hour wait. Honestly not that big of a deal, didn’t bother me that much, but the guy at hostess stand was unapologetic and really rude the one time I asked what our wait would be. Almost like he was pissed that I asked what the wait would be. Once we were seated we waited another hour a half to eat. We sat right next to the kitchen and it is obvious the size of the kitchen is too small to accommodate that large of a seating area. The worst part of the experience was when we got the bill. $7 for a bottled cheerwine is absolute insanity. $5 for a bottled coke is even worse. They even had the audacity to charge me an additional $2 for CRYSTAL HOT SAUCE for the table, an item you can get for less than $2 at the grocery store. Food was great, but they completely miss the point in every other aspect of the service industry. Any true “Southern” restaurant wouldn’t gouge you like this place. We got on the online waitlist at 6:30 and didn’t receive our food until 10. Really disappointing experience.

Don't sleep on this spot! We ordered the fried chicken, catfish platter and shrimp and grits. You can tell right away that they love what they do. The ingredients are top notch, the service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. We tried most of the sides as well, everything was excellent! We're so appreciative of good food when we travel. If you're staying in Holland or surrounding areas, make the 15 minute commute for some of the best food in the area.

Incredible! We just happened across this place after a quick stop at the dunes. Really cool atmosphere, unique building with great views of the marina, cute country kitchen feel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was absolutely amazing! I don't think you could find anything on the menu that isn't incredible. The langostino poor boy was the highlight of our evening, the seasoned fries and the potatoes gratin were the best we've had, the crab calas were amazing... We will be back. Highly recommended!

A MUST when visiting Saugatuck! The chicken is to die for! I'm not even a "chicken" person but I love this place so much. The restaurant is like stepping into your grandmother's kitchen but on the water. It's nostalgic, beautiful and perfect.

I’ve found the holy grail of fried chicken. How have I not known about this joint?!! This was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The fried chicken and catfish are perfection and the sides delish. We did the nanas table and tried traditional and crystal butter. I need to go back and try Nashville hot now. Just go….and if there is a wait, I promise it’s worth it!!
