Had the best dining experience here. The owners were so friendly and the food was delicious. We started with the avocado salad (with homemade ginger dressing!), then shared the shrimp tempura bento box and udon, chicken katsu, and a tray of sushi rolls. I appreciated the attentive staff and the thoughtfulness of bringing a bowl of ice cubes to cool down the udon noodles for my kids. My family and I can’t wait to come back.

First time at Umi Sushi on 23 mile in Shelby Township, and it was great! The sushi was incredibly fresh, and you can really tell they take pride in the quality of their ingredients. Every roll we tried was flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented.
The menu has a great variety, so there’s something for everyone whether you like classic rolls or more creative options.
The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing....

Truly the best sushi around! It is rare when I can find a sushi place that has good options for vegetarians such as myself. I have ordered here many many times and I have not been disappointed yet. My go-to order is a vegetable tempura roll, a pickle radish roll, and inari nigiri (all pictured). All are absolutely delicious and 10/10s across the board! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! :)
