Flat River Tavern Reviews
I've been here several times. Breakfast is my favorite! However, yesterday evening was not pleasant. We always have the loveliest servers. We understand it gets busy. We also understand it'll usually take some time to get our food. That's all okay with us. However, yesterday, there wasn't large enough table cleaned up yet. We had 3 adults, 3 kiddos. Good food, good prices, super friendly staff, love the atmosphere
Friday was not a good experience. I used to go regularly and loved it. I live north of Mecosta. Drove 35 minutes arriving a 4:45 pm with my wife who want to have happy hour with me. Flat River Tavern is a welcoming hometown spot known for its friendly atmosphere, good food, and generous portions. Visitors often praise the great service and comfortable setting, making it a popular place for locals and travelers alike. The restaurant offers a variety of meals, including breakfast, burgers, and specials like prime rib and walleye sandwich. One reviewer enjoyed the walleye sandwich with tots, calling it fabulous, while another raved about the burger and beer battered fries. The flat River Saloon section highlights the friendly staff, great company, and a no-fuss vibe that makes guests feel at home. The food is described as absolutely awesome, with standout dishes like broasted chicken being crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Prices are considered great, and portions are generous, making it a good value. However, some experiences were less positive; a few reviewers mentioned issues with staff politeness, especially during busy times. One guest noted a rude interaction with a waitress, which led to them leaving without dining there. Accessibility is limited due to a step into the building and an inaccessible bathroom. Overall, Flat River Tavern delivers tasty food, a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service, though improvements in staff politeness and accessibility could enhance the experience further.
