Great weather, course was terrific on a Thursday. Restaurant was closed so only Gatorades, water and candy. A target course that punishes wayward shots mostly right on the tee box.
Chilly day but had a good round.
Great staff. The course is always in good to great condition. Challenging without being gimmicky.
Great course and super nice staff!!
Been playing out here since they opened. WOW!! Is all I can say. The course is in the best shape I have ever seen it. It is AWESOME. I play all over Michigan and the Midwest and I can honestly say the conditions do not get much better. GREAT JOB HH!
Wonderful layout. No repetitive holes. Visually beautiful. Good course conditions despite 2 inches of rain last night.
It challenges you in many ways but very fair: generous landing areas off most every tee.
Great course and restaurant:bar
Played HawksHead on a Sunday morning for $110. While the layout is solid and the design is interesting, course conditions didn’t quite live up to the price. Some of the cart paths were rough, and overall it just didn’t have the ‘wow’ factor I expected from all the great reviews. Still worth checking out if you’re in the area, but I’d hoped for a bit more polish for the cost.
This is a true hidden gem of a course. Each hole is unique and asks a different question. It is very playable for all abilities, and better players can post a very good number, all while having a lot of fun hitting from different lies and angles. I never get tired of playing this track.
The staff is wonderful. They are very helpful and very nice people.
The condos are well laid out and provide a very nice place to stay.
I carded a snowman every pitch but my x boss JBS of the What Not Inn was 7 under
the front 9 The course is magnificent

This track did not disappoint. Traveled to South Haven with 3 friends I’ve known since high school. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The course was in excellent condition. A beautiful layout, gorgeous fairways, greens were moving!,
the largest sand traps known to man kind, pace of play rocked, and the spicy Bloody Mary was exceptional! Would play it again immediately. Nice job HawksHead!!!!
The manager at Hawks head canceled our golf outing that was booked months before because we were an inconvenience to his business and then try to charge our group more to have the outing if you’re looking to go off and have a good time, don’t go here unless you wanna pay more
super nice course, very good condition, highly reccomend
Great golf course and veteran friendly
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
HawksHead Golf Course is a gem on Michigan’s west coast.
We hosted a Veteran Golfers Association tournament here and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The course was in excellent condition—lush fairways, true greens, and a layout that was both fair and challenging for players across all skill levels. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and incredibly accommodating.
The scenery alone is worth the visit—rolling terrain, mature trees, and peaceful surroundings make each hole feel like its own private experience. Our players especially appreciated how well the course balanced playability with shot-making demands.
If you’re looking for a top-tier course to host an event or just enjoy a round with friends, HawksHead is the real deal. We look forward to coming back!
