Always a great experience on the idler never miss going there when I am in town for the fact that the food is good. The people are pleasant and it's always been a great experience.

If you like Bloody Mary's that come out of a pop gun, have at it. Bar food, mediocre at best.

Great summer restaurant! You can sit on the top of the boat and watch the boats going up and down the river or catch the sunset. It is also nice that they have added "on land" dining areas so they could accommodate more people. The crab soup is delicious and the coconut shrimp is a must.

Another great place to sit outside, right on the water, and watch the boats go by. Has an outdoor bar and the service was fantastic. Place was packed and but we had our food within 20 mins of ordering.

Unfriendly service starting at the guy at the front - seems like the owner. Pointed us to a dirty table, waited 10 mins for water. Ordered drinks & food. We received half of our food & drinks. server insisted the rest was on the way after we were done. we insisted nevermind as we were already unhappy. Would have loved to express this to management, though manager never touched the table. This wasn’t my first time here, being the first time was a very unfriendly, not welcome atmosphere, decided to give it another chance, leading to confirm that it’s a flop, very sad as this place has potential & never prevails.

The Idler should probably be on your list of South Haven must-do's, along with Captain Lou's and Clementine's. The menu is unique enough to be interesting without being ridiculous; the service staff and management are great; and of course, the atmosphere is impossible to beat!

We had a great time! The atmosphere is good; Outdoor seating has a mix of sun & shade and table & bar/high-top, there's fake grass flooring on the riverboat plus great river views — BUSY with all sorts of pleasure craft on warm days — for a vacation "island/tropical" feel, and good music on the speakers (tending a little towards the parrothead side of rock and country).Their drink menu leans "tropical", with other notable items being the South Haven Iced Tea and the Funky Cold Medina. Our server was quick, attentive, and funny. Our drinks were served slightly sticky (though I'm unsure whether from the heavy winds or sloppiness on the bartender's or server's part) but no worries, a damp napkin fixes that easily enough. However, a single one-person bathroom means a nearly guaranteed short wait if you need to use it.

Use to be my favorite place in South Haven. However, prices going up, quantity going down. I’m not looking for a massive amount of food but 5 shrimp for 15 bucks is a tad much. The atmosphere is the same. Except it was originally a mix of music. Now it is a Spotify free account with only country.I hope this millennial group restaurant doesn’t go south as well.

Great view. I had the fried tomato BLThamburger it was great. Coconut shrimp with the orange marmalade for too. It has under a 4 star review, so I typically wouldn't go to this restaurant, but my wife wanted to go and I am glad we did as it was very good to me.

After waiting to be seated for about 15 minutes, while barely being spoken to by the server, after two tables were cleaned finally, one on the river side, and one facing the dock, the couple behind us was offered the Riverside seating, although we were first in line.we weren’t even offered a choice being next in line to be seated with the two options open. I got the feeling they didn’t want to serve a mixed race couple, especially since the other couple was immediately given menus and being serviced, while we sat there with a wet table in front of us. We left and will not be returning. Won’t give them a dime of our money. Definitely don’t recommend visiting this restaurant unless you’re Caucasian ??‍♀️

Despite the rain I was able to find a dry table on the deck with a great view of the river. The servers are friendly and attentive. The spinach and artichoke dip was very tasty as we enjoyed our South Haven Ice Tea. Highly recommended but get there early to get a good seat on the deck.Parking: A free public parking lot is about a block away. Plenty of free street parking but it fills up on crowded weekends. A very large free parking lot is less than a mile away.

Food was decent. I ordered the Maui wowie sandwich. It was good. Chicken was seasoned well with good flavor. My husband ordered a bacon burger but it didn't come with bacon. He said it was average. Service was extremely slow for what seemed like a less than busy mid afternoon lunch. Waiter was very polite and apologetic about the wait. Love the atmosphere though. Enjoy watching the water and the boats coming in and out. Would definitely come back for drinks on the water.

Calamari, mahi mahi was terrible. Very dry and old tasting. Cajun chicken wings was all breading and spices. They don't have oysters even though sign in front says they do. Staff and location great. Better places to go than here to eat!

We've been going to SoHa for 15 years and didn't get to North of the river much. This place had a great vibe. The food was very good and great portions from the soup all the way to the elephant ear!!:-)
