This place deserves all the stars for customer service and ambiance! The music is a vibe and the historical black figures on the walls are an inspiration. Sydney was a joy to have as a waitress! If you are in the Detroit area this restaurant is worth a visit.

I’m a southern boy and generally don’t eat at “Michigan soul food “ spots. However I did eat here. It was so good. I got fish. Very very good two pieces but I wanted more. So good. Grits seems like they were cooked in a broth of some sort flavorful without butter and salt. (I still added it)I also got okra. Fried to perfection just okay for me. But all and all fantastic. I went during lunch today. Greater with a smile and felt very welcomed. Not a lot of that in Michigan. I will go back for the service alone. And that fish. I don’t even know what kind it was it was so good. So I just have to rate it highly. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars because I’m greedy and wanted more in the serving. Fish and grit, 10 10 10 across the boards. Okra, 6. Good but just okay.Parking: If you miss the entrance you have to do a circle. Lol

My fiancé and I came in for an early dinner and everything was wonderful. The wait staff ( Christy Love) and bartender provided excellent service and really engaged with us. We will definitely be visiting again.

Cute quaint location. Everyone was very welcoming. I made a comment unbeknownst to the owner and immediately I was accommodated! I felt like I mattered! And the food was good too! ❤️

A perfect first experience. Sydney and Bri provided exceptional service - attentive to detail, tremendous hospitality, and they delivered really good food. The sweet potato mini muffins are worth the trip, and the catfish and greens did not disappoint. Cornbread is a gem of a restaurant with ambiance and southern food done at the highest level.
