Oh no! We used to love this place but the quality of the food has dropped down drastically. Service and drinks continue to be good but the food is terrible and upsetting for the price especially when we can remember how good it used to be. What happened?!

The first time here was great. Second time was ok. Third time we made reservations ahead of time and when we got there we were seated at literally the farthest table in the place in another room in the back. The waiter started talking to someone else in the middle of me asking a question. Pretty rude. We asked to be moved to the main room since there were open tables and got moved no problem. Really liked the trout dip and got some to take home. Got home (3 hour drive) and it was some sort of ranch dressing. I've told people how good this place was, now I have to say it's not so good.

Came here with my wife last Thursday since I had the day off. This was our second stop on our bonus date day :) I had seen and heard of this place but had never been there.

Inside, I liked it already because of how simply cool it looks! The do woodwork very well here, spoiler alert, even check folder was a beautiful piece of well preserved wood! I was also intrigued by what they make and sell right up front, from limoncello liqueur to bourbon mustard. They also have samples of some of their drinks and condiments. We ended up bringing home some of that bourbon mustard, it is so good! I've already made some sandwiches with it šŸ˜‚

After our wait, we were seated and out came our cool waiter. I forgot his name but he was a real one. We started with the Specialty Flight, which I've attached to this review. Everything was good, even that really strong rum šŸ˜‚ One of the shots, the OCG, we ended up buying a bottle of on the way out. Yum!

For my entree I got the chicken linguine. Simple, but surprisingly good. And not so rich that you feel like you could sleep for days after eating it.

Overall, this is an awesome place! An amazing distillery offering local specialties and some good food along with it. I will definitely be back to try some more of their products šŸ‘šŸ»

OMG! We planned part of our vacation around this place and honestly, it was a huge let down. The service was terrible! Sierra started by spilling soda all over the kids, put in two kid’s Mac and cheeses as one main pulled pork Mac and cheese (kids don’t like meat), and brought out 5 of the 9 drinks we ordered. We’re patient and out to have a good time, but this was just a total joke for the price of the food and drink.
And the food was only ok…we waited forever and the fries were cold! The drinks are fair, lll stick to getting bottles and mixing at home, their old fashion was just average bartender stuff.
Then just to make the experience really bad the check was wrong even though she comped the Mac and cheese she added two extra sodas and missed an appetizer. We just let it slide because we were already 2.25 hours in to just a truly terrible service.
Absolutely love the idea of this place, but in reality it was a huge disappointment, can’t just totally bungle the service and have ok food. Better just stick to the distilling and tours. Three Oaks is a pass for dining. New Buffalo was much better.

DO NOT HOST YOUR WEDDING HERE. I was involved with a wedding and the air conditioning was broken on the hottest weekend of the summer and it had been broken for days and NO ONE contacted the bride and groom to notify them of the situation and offer a plan B. The event room was nearly 90 degrees. Unbearable for some guests. Unacceptable in the wedding industry.

New historic fee on checks and bad cocktails - the $8 whiskey flight is the best idea in my opinion or just a straight pour - it’s 5 1/4 oz pours.
Brussels sprouts were good.
Fries were definitely stale and not good at all.
Blood pressure cocktail is just a premixed cocktail with a flavored ice cube.
Old fashioned is a half hearted attempt, super light on bitters and looks more like a Wisconsin old fashioned

Oof just had a real bad old fashioned and obviously old French fries.

It was raining big time on our way to South Haven so the botanical garden we planned was a no go. We came upon Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks MI. What a great find! We a private tour with Ed learning the history and tasting 14, yes 14, pours. Ed was very thorough on the history and what we were drinking. I love the history of the building and Journeyman.
We came away with a few bottles and had a couple drinks at the bar. My husband had a straight bourbon and I had a frozen concoction called the OCG apple cider, a white whiskey drink with apple juice and spices blended and frozen. Amazing!! Their restaurant is large and look like it had a really good menu, but we didn’t eat there since we had already eaten lunch. Next time.
I’ve been on the Bourbon Trail three years in a row, and this year will be number four. I felt like I was on the Bourbon Trail.
For you Midwesterners, no need to drive to Kentucky. Check out this distillery in Michigan. You won’t be sorry.
I had a great time!!

We went for a tour and tasting. It was great and we got to taste quite a few different whiskeys. The restaurant was really good. They had the best soft pretzel with cheese. The food there was really good and they have a great alcoholic milkshake.

went to valpo Sunday afternoon for 1 cocktail. Waited a long time but the very nice bartender explained someone just quit and he was in the weeds. I felt bad for him we got our drinks. Here's my concern why didn't a manager step in to help him. A manager looking guy was walking around I'm sure doing manager stuff but than sitting at the bar having a coke not very long but still the bartender was still in the weeds. Than we walked to the bathroom they were filthy mind you this is 2pm on a Sunday. A lot of tables with dishes and food on them yet a lot of wait staff just chit chatting. Good luck it seems like you might have an employee problem.

Had reservations last night at 7 for a friend’s 50th birthday and we were not seated till after 8. We were never apologized to and the manager didn’t even speak with us about there mistake. Will not recommend this place. This is for the Three Oaks establishment

Unfortunately this place has missed the mark. We have dined in multiple times(valpo location), and unfortunately the service has always fell short. Tonight we dined in and we waited 30 mins to get our drinks (2 beers and 2 vodka club sodas). The runner then served us the wrong appetizer which we had sent back before even placed on the table. We finally got our drinks 5 mins before our food arrived. Waters were empty on the table. The lack of service was truly disappointing. I can understand in a ā€œnewā€ restaurant there are corks that need to be worked out but after dining 3+ times there’s clearly a lack of expectations from their management and staff.

Food was sub par, didn't have all the drinks on the menu. Was disappointed

Vegetarian options and unique flavor profiles. Right next to the Acorn. Industrial Americana themed. Located in a refurbished manufacturing site. Great spot to eat in Three Oaks!
