Everything was delicious. The espresso martini was treat. There were deviled eggs for a starter, but they were consumed with glee before a photo opportunity. Almost the same with the Shrimp and Grits. All so yummy. Lemon drop for dessert.
Soul food kicked up a notch. The pork loin comes on a bed of collard greens... Eat them. An explosion of flavor. The drinks are unique and awesome. Cornbread with miso? Unexpected and yes please. The fennel sauce for the deviled eggs is like nothing I've ever had.
We had an easy time getting a last minute reservation for a larger group. The restaurant is cute! The food was hit or miss, some of the portion sizes were perfect and some were shockingly small for where they were listed on the menu and the price (poutine was 5-6 potato quarters in a side dish but grouped with the entrees, shrimp cocktail was 4 shrimp, deviled eggs came with 3).
