This place is magical! I have been a loyal LOD tea customer for over a decade. I visit the tea farm and shop several times a year. I always bring my friends from out of town to visit this peaceful place and enjoy the beautiful selection of teas. I feel so blessed that I have this incredible place in my town.
The Tea 101 class is phenomenal!! I have taken it 3 times over the years (the first time was in 2013) and I learn something new every single time. I always attend with a friend and they love it too. Angela, the owner, is PASSIONATE about tea, the wonderful qualities, ceremony, traditions, and medicinal benefits of tea. And she shares so much with you during this class. You will learn so much! Do not hesitate to become a more educated tea enthusiast.
The tea shop has the most amazing blends. Angela was born to blend, infuse, and create teas for the world to enjoy. The labor of love that is in each tin of tea will have you trying to figure out how to bring every one of them home with you. I have an entire cupboard dedicated to LOD Teas. The richness of each blend will have you brewing tea all year long. You can taste the love and passion in every sip. The tea is so amazing, I can brew several cups from just one scoop. It seems like an investment until you figure out how many cups you can brew from one canister and that the quality of your tea is exponentially higher than anything you can purchase at the grocery store.
I live off of “Sun in the Winter” during the cold winter months. I swear by its power to ward off colds. “Blueberry Blessings” is my favorite spring blend. “Hummingbird Nectar” is my favorite iced tea during the hot summer months. “Heartwarming Cinnamon“ and “Sunday Morning” are my favorites for fall. Matcha is my daily morning health ritual for the last decade. I only buy matcha from LOD! They are the only ones I trust to ensure it’s pure and fresh and viable. I love all their teas. I can’t get enough of them! I want them all!!
Level up your tea time. Life is too short to drink anything but the very best!
I arrived with one thing in mind, something to help kidney and liver function. there was choices and they were very helpful is narrowing down to exactly what was right for me. their knowledge and customer service are something you only see with locally owned businesses and their passion for tea is phenomenal! Thank you!
The owner and staff were so friendly. They treated my teenage daughters with such kindness- educating them on various teas. The gardens are beautiful- a wonderful place to enjoy a cup of tea and support a small business!
This place is a hidden gem just south of Traverse City. They have a huge variety of different teas all organic. Just being there and walking around sipping tea is so calming.
This was a nice stop and I would like to go back with more time to enjoy and without children in tow. The tea was very good! It would be nice if there were more options to get smaller sampling of several different flavors to purchase loose tea. The tea canisters are pricey and I am sure that they use top quality ingredients. I love what all you are doing and I wish it was not so far away so that I could visit again sooner rather than later! In the meantime, we will enjoy the Hummingbird Nectar blend! ?
Came here last year and forgot to make a review! This was such a fun place. When I was there the inside wasn't open, but they did have a food truck style trailer that they were serving out of. The teas we tried were phenomenal! The pricing on full containers is out of my personal budget, but are worth every penny (and if you do the math its pretty cheap per cup for some amazing tea!). Can't wait to come out this summer!
Angela's Light of Day Organic Tea Farm is the real deal - lovingly crafted, carefully grown biodynamic teas. Try Creamy Earl Grey and you'll appreciate the difference immediately. A wonderful treasure.
Truly excellent teas. As a local, I've been able to try several of their varieties at area restaurants & I loved them so much that I had to buy tins of my own (namely Coffee Convert & Creamy Earl Grey).
Best Earl Grey tea there is!
I grew up in Michigan and now visit in summer there when I can. Had the absolute joy of visiting the enchanted Light of Day Farm twice and now order the unparalleled quality of the LoD Macha green tea. My husband, who doesn't normally drink tea, now requests batches of the Leelanau Licorice, which is surprisingly sweet without any sugar. Proud to buy from this biodynamic gem that nurtures the soil ...and us though their diligent caring work!

I did not care for the Ceremonial Matcha Tea. I will order directly from Japan next time. ?
Quaint shop with nice grounds despite the snow. A nice selection of special tea & herbs. I'm enjoying the Chai tea. Definitely check them out when in the area.
Their teas are amazing! The staff is very knowledgeable about their products. Love going there!
My family had a wonderful experience here. Debbie was so warm, friendly and knowledgeable and answered every question we could think of, which was a lot.
We are tea people, and this little place was the tea shop of my dreams.
When we opened That New Place in Williamston (restaurant and pastries) last spring, offering LoD tea was a no-brainer. We heard Angela speak at GLCI years ago and have been fans ever since. It has been so much fun introducing LoD tea to our guests and having them get as excited as us. Our favorites are Earl Grey, Maui Green and Heartwarming Cinnamon.
