I was excited to try some local tea during my trip to Michigan. The variety was impressive and there seemed to be something for everyone. However, I was very disappointed by the prices. They were incredibly high compared to what I have experienced elsewhere. I have traveled around the world and bought tea in many places, but I have never seen prices this steep. In most quality tea shops, the same type of tea would cost less than half of what was being charged here. Because of that, I chose not to buy anything. Unfortunately, the pricing completely overshadowed the experience for me. This was by far the most expensive tea I have ever come across in my entire life!
Sorry for the bad review but customers have to be aware of that part.

Love the matcha shot!

Beautiful, wonderful, little shop. This is a very peaceful and serene location. The tea absolutely extravagant and the prices are extremely reasonable. A cup of this tea in a commercial place would run you between $6and $13. It is about 0.62 a cup if you buy it in the bulk.

Staff is very knowledgeable and quite welcoming. T is delicious. Lattes are delicious. Well worth a trip if you were within 45 minutes.

Absolute heaven! It was such a peaceful place to visit, inside and outside. They have a huge variety of teas. We got to sample a creamy earl grey, hummingbird, and a chai latte, all amazing! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, educating us on all the teas, how they were made, and the tastes and benefits of each. After tasting a few teas, we enjoyed walking around the peaceful, quiet meditation gardens. They were full of beautiful flowers all planted for pollinators. I love that. This is the only organic biodynamic tea Farm in the country. Making delicious tea and helping the environment at the same time.

Easy to be enchanted by this peaceful oasis. I don’t even drink tea, but I bought a hundred dollars’ worth. It’s lovely.

Wonderful teas. Tried several of the teas and enjoyed them all. Creamy earl grey and lapsang are wonderful and new favorites.

Light of Day Tea Farm was straight out of a storybook!

The owners, Angela and Michael, were fantastic, they took time to inform the customers of the process, their mission, and answer any questions that they had. I felt very welcomed in this shop. You can try any of their tea for just $4 for a 16oz cup, which is a good idea before you invest in any of their teas. They also have open grounds which provides a nice walk through nature, and a beautiful garden with seating where we sat for a few minutes, sipped our tea, and listened to the birds. It was a great place, and I would recommend it to anyone in the Traverse City area.

What a wonderful gift Light of Day and Angela! If you are nearby this is a one of kind place that you will not find anywhere else. The tea is perfect and so are the conversations.

So impressed with this tea and the ordering experience! While home for the holidays I tried the creamy earl grey at Cuppa Joe in the TC commons, it was the best tea I’ve ever had. The next day I went to Cuppa Joe on front street for another and to ask where they get their tea from, they were very helpful and told me all about Light of Day. Once back home I ordered a container from Light of Day. My order arrived two days later in a beautiful container, with wonderful tea, and a very nice thank you from the company. On my next trip home I look forward to visiting their location. Best tea ever!

This place is magical! I have been a loyal LOD tea customer for over a decade. I visit the tea farm and shop several times a year. I always bring my friends from out of town to visit this peaceful place and enjoy the beautiful selection of teas. I feel so blessed that I have this incredible place in my town.

The Tea 101 class is phenomenal!! I have taken it 3 times over the years (the first time was in 2013) and I learn something new every single time. I always attend with a friend and they love it too. Angela, the owner, is PASSIONATE about tea, the wonderful qualities, ceremony, traditions, and medicinal benefits of tea. And she shares so much with you during this class. You will learn so much! Do not hesitate to become a more educated tea enthusiast.

The tea shop has the most amazing blends. Angela was born to blend, infuse, and create teas for the world to enjoy. The labor of love that is in each tin of tea will have you trying to figure out how to bring every one of them home with you. I have an entire cupboard dedicated to LOD Teas. The richness of each blend will have you brewing tea all year long. You can taste the love and passion in every sip. The tea is so amazing, I can brew several cups from just one scoop. It seems like an investment until you figure out how many cups you can brew from one canister and that the quality of your tea is exponentially higher than anything you can purchase at the grocery store.

I live off of “Sun in the Winter” during the cold winter months. I swear by its power to ward off colds. “Blueberry Blessings” is my favorite spring blend. “Hummingbird Nectar” is my favorite iced tea during the hot summer months. “Heartwarming Cinnamon“ and “Sunday Morning” are my favorites for fall. Matcha is my daily morning health ritual for the last decade. I only buy matcha from LOD! They are the only ones I trust to ensure it’s pure and fresh and viable. I love all their teas. I can’t get enough of them! I want them all!!

Level up your tea time. Life is too short to drink anything but the very best!

The owner and staff were so friendly. They treated my teenage daughters with such kindness- educating them on various teas. The gardens are beautiful- a wonderful place to enjoy a cup of tea and support a small business!

This place is a hidden gem just south of Traverse City. They have a huge variety of different teas all organic. Just being there and walking around sipping tea is so calming.

This was a nice stop and I would like to go back with more time to enjoy and without children in tow. The tea was very good! It would be nice if there were more options to get smaller sampling of several different flavors to purchase loose tea. The tea canisters are pricey and I am sure that they use top quality ingredients. I love what all you are doing and I wish it was not so far away so that I could visit again sooner rather than later! In the meantime, we will enjoy the Hummingbird Nectar blend! ?

Came here last year and forgot to make a review! This was such a fun place. When I was there the inside wasn't open, but they did have a food truck style trailer that they were serving out of. The teas we tried were phenomenal! The pricing on full containers is out of my personal budget, but are worth every penny (and if you do the math its pretty cheap per cup for some amazing tea!). Can't wait to come out this summer!
