I wanted to like this place, unfortunately there’s no reason to. The queso we ordered was essentially pasta sauce with no flavoring. The tacos were bland and soggy. Their menu is very specific. The rice and beans we ordered had some heat to it, with no flavor. Won’t be back.
Love this place. Their tacos and guacamole is out of this world.
Didn't eat or drink here.
Had their doors propped wide open a half hour before they actually opened and turned me away as I was standing inside looking at a menu.
Food delicious, just wish it had stayed hot longer.
Hands down the best food we had in Traverse City was at Mama Lu's. The meat is so flavorful, words can't describe it. I ordered the nachos with chicken and it was so dang delicious. Don't miss out on eating here if you are checking out Front St.
So much fun, from our server (Lucy) to the fun food. Fantastic.
Food was good but cilantro on everything for those who have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap it was not good. Our server was excellent. Resturant was small and tightly packed.

We stumbled on Mama Lu's and we were not disappointed. The shrimp taco was my favorite! The el pastor was also amazing. I would mention the nachos were on the small side but the homemade chips are very delicious. If you are looking for some good Mexican food while in Traverse City Mama Lu's is on the short list.

Disgusting. Food was beyond burnt. No kind of flavor.

The atmosphere is very friendly and cozy. Overall it felt like a nice place to relax. The staff was incredibly friendly and chill. The food itself was tasty however the only negative I would have to give would be that the portion size was very small.

My first time to this restaurant and while other have said the place is small and getting a table is difficult, I had no problem getting a table.
Food was good. I had guacamole and chips and also ordered one of every tacos they had on the list. I wasn’t disappointed with the tacos, but the guacamole was way too lime forward and took away from what you normally think of with guacamole.
The service was horrible. My waiter rarely checked on me, and seemed to never bring what I asked for when it came to a simple Coke. I also say next to a table that ordered before me and I somehow got my food way ahead of them. Not to mention I was very annoyed with the customers attitude and foul language the whole time.
I will be back but hopefully not when that particular server is working. The bartender seemed to be dropping off more food and drinks than the server himself.

I liked the music and food was great. Guacamole was heaven. Everything is 5 stars. Esme U (9 years old from Benton Harbor Michigan)

Tacos are fresh with unique sauces. Queso is top 5. Margaritas are real good wit a decent pour. Place is small so seating may be a wait during busy times.
