Straight away it's kind of crowded, it's a small space, so they try to maximize it, however it makes for close quarters. Service was pretty good. Food was mediocre. Street corn tasted burnt, I couldn't palate it, so my girl friend ate it for me. Chips were disappointing, but the queso was delicious. Tacos are super mid for the price. I thought the brisket one was the best, pork belly was meh. I probably won't be back if I'm in town.

Love this place so much! Highly recommend the guacamole and the habanero cucumber margarita! Those are staples. The tacos change, but we always find new favorites. Well worth the line at the door in summer!

The staff was exceptional accommodating food allergies, and fickle children. We did wait ~30 min., but their text system was prompt, timing was accurate. Great service and communication from staff members. Overall, great taco experience - get the churros- so tasty!

The tacos had overwhelmingly sweet meat (we tried braised beef, chicken and pork belly) and nowhere on the menu was this mentioned. Also the guac was too limey (and I put lime on everything, so that’s saying something) Atmosphere was ok, but the tables too close to each other so you can listen to other’s conversation. One server was very nice but the other gave awkward looks when asked questions.

The soft taco shells were not heated up and tiny shrimp served in the tacos. This place used to be a lot better.

We stopped in for a bite after the lunch crowd, it wasn't busy and we were served quickly. The tacos are not like traditional tacos at all. The flavors are fine and totally different than what I expected. The portions are small, I ordered 2 tacos and could have easily eaten 4, they are the diameter of a country biscuit. No issues it was clean and the food was fresh. Flavor profiles were just not what I expected

Not great. Somehow they managed rice and beans with absolutely no spice, but too much heat. All of the meat was dry and everything had surprisingly little actual flavor. I felt like it was made by people who had only seen pictures of tacos. For $4.50 it was unfortunate. Only exception was the guac - I thought it was fabulous. The staff was also great.I would go again just for a beer and guac. For anything else go to a real Mexican place.

Visited Mama Lu’s for lunch on a visit to TC. The location is cute and had a nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly from the start and prompt in checking in on us and delivering drinks and food. The queso dip was fantastic and the guacamole was fresh. The margaritas were good & I particularly enjoyed the cucumber habanero margarita - it had just enough spice without being overbearing. However, we were a little disappointed by the tacos. We tried the special (steak), barbacoa, pork belly and shrimp tacos. The ingredients seemed fresh and their presentation was nice, but the overall taste was underwhelming. Overall, the drinks and apps outshined the tacos but we enjoyed our visit

Greeted and seated quickly. Simple menu with unique flavor combinations. I ordered three tacos. One Panza, one shrimp and one barbacoa. The shrimp taco is very good, simple and mild. Panza is made with pork belly, sesame and slaw. Fresh flavor but not a fan of the pork belly. This taco had an Asian infused flavor. My favorite of the three was the barbacoa taco. Good spice, tender meat and finished with a little fresh cilantro.Server was friendly and attentive. Don't be afraid to ask questions or make modifications to the tacos. Easy to work with. Great place for an affordable lunch.
