We had such an enjoyable experience at the Red Mesa Grill while on a short trip to Traverse City, that we had to squeeze in an extra visit before we headed out of the city. Our table was vegetarian, and we enjoyed the bean cakes and mushroom enchiladas. The bean cakes, in particular, were excellent, and accompanied with a corn salsa and tomatillo cream that was delectable. We were also amused by the hot sauce window, and the manager brought out a tray of extra hot sauce we could...
Oh man! The chips and salsa... I was thrown off a little cause I'm use to it being complimentary but man... So worth it! The chips are crispy and dense and salsa is incredible. We ordered the street corn and Cuban and they were both perfect. The mocktails were refreshing. Our waitress was very friendly.
Affordable, kid-friendly but can be loud. Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan menus available. They also have no problem splitting entrees for budget or calorie conscious diners. Good selection of local beers on tap, massive tequila list.

Downgrading a star. They seem to be slipping on the allergen awareness. Despite the server being told that 2 party members had a dairy allergy, tacos came with cheese, and the rice was buttered.
