First off, let me say that Traverse City Whiskey used to be one of my favorite places to visit when we were in town. And Traverse City bourbon itself is one of my favorite daily drinkers. (My husband is a bartender and we are pretty hardcore bourbon people.)We started coming to the stillroom 6+ years ago and always enjoyed our experience. The bartenders were helpful and friendly and we would always leave with a bottle and some merchandise. However, the last two times we have visited, the same bartender has been present. She was barely welcoming and short to the point of being snarky. Because of her attitude, we didn’t really want to ask questions. Additionally, the bar was silent and we just felt uncomfortable sitting there having a drink, and we largely think it was because of the atmosphere that this particular bartender created. (Granted it was a holiday so I expected it to be slow. But the only people talking were the bartender and her friend.) We basically felt like we shouldn’t be there, so we each had one drink and then left. And even though we originally wanted some merchandise, we were so disappointed with the experience that we didn’t bother buying anything else.We don’t think we will be returning; part of the charm of sitting at a bar is interacting with the staff, learning about the spirits, and enjoying the atmosphere. There was none of that.

Always the best service and cocktails around. Even if you don’t like whiskey there’s something for everyone!

The cherry whiskey is to die for. Had a Cherry Sour that was just insane. A must visit every time I'm in town.

Fun little distillery a little bit outside of town. Nice vibe with indoor and lots of outdoor seating. We’re not too into whiskey but the cherry sour was delicious, as well as the cocktail cherries. They had pretzels for food but not much else. Would definitely go again for a drink in the summer

Have always loved TC Whiskey...great drinks, wonderful staff....and exceptional entertainment. We drove down from Petoskey just to listen to "Ben Richey" tonight. He was awesome....enjoyed every song. Well worth the drive!

Bartender not friendly or helpful. I asked for a hot kind of drink and he said we don't have any. So my husband order a drink and I passed. In the bar area there was a coffee pot and it was on. After my husband drink his I took up the glass and asked the same guy what that was for and he said it was hot water for hot toddies. Excuse me bit why wasn't this offered, when I asked for a hot drink? For locals only???? Very disappointed. You just lost a sale of 3-4 bottles of your whiskey. My husband put them back and we said farewell.

Great drinks but bad service. Bartenders didn’t acknowledge us for over 20 minutes. When they did they said 5 words max. Didn’t even label the whiskey flight we bought.

The best craft cocktails (who knew whiskey and cocktail cherries would be great in a marg?!). This is a great place to grab a drink and sit outside by the fire when it’s chilly.

Delicious flight. It's hard to choose between the two of us which is our favorite. Great outdoor seating. We had our well behaved dog with us. The location is nice. A bit out of the busy downtown, which we enjoyed.
