I absolutely love the Tall Ship Manitou. We have been multiple times over the last few years from the sunset tours, music nights on deck and even taking an overnight trip. Every time has been beautiful and wonderful! The attention to detail that the staff shows is exceptional. Really infinite of the best tall ship experiences in the U.S. highly recommend!

The crew on board are awesome and super helpful. We had my grandmother who was in a wheel chair and there were super helpful boarding and deboarding. It was a little nerve wracking but if someone in your party is in a wheel chair you can definitely book and you definitely should! We went out on a pretty windy day too and we didn’t have issues with her being thrown around or anything either. Super great experience

We enjoyed our sunset cruise on the schooner Manitou (or “spirit” in Anishinaabemowin, the language of the Anishinaabe indigenous peoples). The Capt and crew were all delightful. Those of us who volunteered even had the honor of hoisting the sails. You’re allowed to bring your own food on board, and they have beverage service (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic). It was the ideal experience to cap off our vacation in the Traverse City area.

The ice cream ? sail was wonderful. The captain and crew were fun, informative and made our sail interesting. They worked together so well and it was fun to watch them. It was so relaxing and the Moomers ice cream was delicious. I would definitely do it again.

The Sunday brunch was fantastic! Mother Nature cooperated with a warm, sunny day with no wind for brunch, then a light wind after we ate. The food was very good, and the drinks were cute. Excellent time for solo or group outings. I’m local and trying to find excuses to do this more often.

We enjoyed a wonderful brunch sail. The wind was perfect so we really got to sail. The food was outstanding especially when you consider it was cooked onboard and served in a feisty wind. The crew was very professional and did a great job sailing, serving, and interacting with the patrons. We will definitely go again.

The ice cream cruise was a great event for family across 3 generations. A beautiful ship on a beautiful body of water. The crew were friendly and knowledgeable, and the ice cream was delish (and we appreciated the sorbet option for vegans). Can’t wait for our next outing.

First the technical side. As a licensed captain and a sailmaker and rigger for over 40 years I will say that Captain Sarah and her crew conducted themselves with the highest degree of professional ethic. You are in good hands and I might add, they are a right friendly bunch.The fun began right at the dock with our safety brief and then boarding. want to help sail the boat? You can do that. Seeing the kids driving this very large sailboat with glee in their eyes was so much fun! Captain Sarah handled all of that perfectly. We were out for the ice cream cruise and Moomers is the bomb! We'll try the Brunch Cruise next time, because we could smell the food the chef was cooking up and it must be awesome!!! A beautiful day on the Bay with the good ship Manitou and Captain Sarah and crew. Thank you for a great afternoon.

We took the sunset cruise on the Scout with Captain Michelle and had a fantastic time. We started with a little bit of rain that tried to dampen our fun, but so glad we decided to go anyway. Captain Michelle was able to sail us to areas on the bay that were a bit lighter, and eventually the sun even poked out at just the right time. Overall, it was fun and very relaxing, and Captain Michelle was a great host. We highly recommend the sunset cruise!
