Ordered general tso chicken. It was okay and just that. I was hoping it would be less breaded. It’s as if they used the sweet and sour chicken and tossed the puffy battered chicken in general tso. Was looking for my crisp and more spice on my chicken. The woman taking the order was great and if she’s the one cooking in there I commend her still for even the effort.

Good food large quantities. Loved the spring roll, wonton soup, and two noodle dishes that were recommended on the spot

Simply amazing! Japanese/ Chinese food. Purchase the spring rolls and chicken fried rice portions are absolutely enormous. Highly recommend if you have never ate here.

Had general Tao chicken and it is a little different than others I’ve had but in a very good way. Excellent food, ginormous serving. I will be back. Thanks for the excellent food!

Great mom and pop shop. The Mongolian beef and hot and sour soup were very good. The portions were large and the service was friendly.

Ordered here for the first time recently and they didn’t disappoint. We’ve been to all the spots around Troy, even driving to places in hazel park that supposedly had great food. I must admit, I was reluctant having seen the little place for years and I never looked busy which I took as it must not be good. I was wrong! I will be ordering here from now on.

When you see large parties of Chinese customers eating in the dining area, that's a really good sign. It shouldn't be so hard to find a great Chinese restaurant in Northwest Troy, but this is the one. Generous portions, authentic flavors, and reasonable prices make China Chef a sure thing. The service is prompt and no-nonsense. Note that the dining room is now open for self-service; there is no wait staff. All of the chicken dishes are excellent, and minor adjustments to the ingredients are acceptable. Our favorite for over ten years!

Always good food, just a bit far from my house but worth every penny

It’s very difficult to find a Chinese restaurant that’s open on Mondays. I found this place, and I decided to give it a try. I ordered chicken lo mein. I wanted to order a eggroll, but they said they don’t carry them, all they had were spring rolls. So I passed on that. Service was quick for my takeout order. When I got home and opened it up, the chicken was steaming hot, clearly had just been made. There were huge chunks of broccoli and tender chicken. It didn’t look like “ Typical” Lo mein. The noodles were thick and short. I took a bite and it was actually pretty good. I won’t say it’s the best I’ve ever had, but it was decent. They were generous portions of chicken, and it was tasty.

Good food. Lady is quiet but friendly. I highly recommend their spicy sichuan chicken boneless if you love a little spicy food.

I found my new favorite Chinese. Finally a place where the food is wonderful, very fresh, prices are very affordable. I love their crab Rangoon, always fresh made. Chicken fried rice is also very good with lots of chicken. Staff is always so kind and helpful. It's really a carry out place.

The online business hours are wrong, no one answers the phone, and the service attitude is average. But the food driver was delicious. We drove an hour to the restaurant, and the restaurant actually changed its business hours. But it’s delicious and cheap, so I can’t help it.
