We have dined at Eddie V's several times it is one of my favorite restaurants by far. Today just kind of fell short and flat for me on over all service. There was a gnat problem one got into a drink I ordered and another in one of the side dishes. We were fighting to save our food most of the night. With the level of elegance the restaurant stands for I just expected more. Again long time guest of Eddie V's and I'm sure I will return but, the gnat cannot not.
We celebrated my 75th birthday. The food and service were excellent. Enjoyed Prosecco, Pinot noir, crabcakes, lobster bisque, crab fried rice, lamb chops, and dessert. The crabcakes are a standout because fresh crab, not canned is used with hardline any filler. The lamb chops were roasted to the EXACT temperature of doneness for each of us with a wonderful char. The South African Lobster was different & tasted cleaner than Maine lobster. Lobster mashed potatoes was basic, bread was great & sea bass was outstanding. Can't prove it but feel very funny about the dining area I was set at & it seemed extremely segregated.
