They were also out of the material to light the flaming dragon on fire for my daughter and on a late Saturday afternoon they were out of their signature Kona dessert. My wife's prime rib was over cooked but good, and my burger was made incorrectly and had to be redone but it was good. Sushi was great. The server was upset and offered us a free dessert. Not sure what is going on with all the challenges, I would have thought a manager should have come out to talk with us. Our server did the best he could. We were exited to bring our daughter in-law here for her birthday and it wasn't the experience and top notch restaurant I remember. How do you not have your restaurant fully stocked at 4 pm on a Saturday night? My wife said it is just another meh restaurant.

Mistake after mistake with service. Staff Acknowledged mistakes and no remedies were made, it just continued. Old wine, steak overdone, then raw (came after everyone had eaten), timing. Salads were fresh and flatbread appetizer was good. Overall a really unfortunate experience and no desire to ever return. Not to mention the lame screen/game/checkout device at table that showed itemization in such a user unfriendly way, so hard to comprehend and no paper receipt offered. Feel like that was incorrect too.

I haven't been here in a while. We were disappointed. We went with our friends and my husband ordered a chicken sandwich which was $22. He took one bite and the chicken was mostly fat. He swallowed it because he didn't want to spit it out with others at the table. Took a second bite, and still fatty. Complained to waitress at the end. Nothing was done just a sorry. The chicken and shrimp lettuce wraps were so spicy I couldn't eat them. The California roll and edamame was good. But how can you mess those up. We won't be back anytime soon. Very disappointed.

I think our problem boiled down to the server being new and not being helped. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our first drinks. The food came out slow and staggered as well, and requests for additional items that were were not received (hot sauce etc.). Food was decent, nothing to blow you away for the price.

Excellent food and outstanding service all around! My group ordered the potstickers and the sweet chili salmon and one of the special summer menu entrees. One person in my party liked my food better and the restaurant replaced theirs with what I got and even threw in a dessert! Will definitely be back again.

My experience at Kona was mid. My waiter forgot things even when the orders were repeated back. Items weren't removed from things we ordered (a couple of things had to be removed & still came back wrong). Our entrees came out cold/luke warm. My steak was overcooked, it was like jerky. Luckily the chef did remake it & it came out better. 2/5 stars!

Great wait staff at this Kona location. Food is typically good, especially some of their specialty sushi rolls. Was disappointed in their shrimp tacos however ... not much shrimp and little flavor. Will order something else next time.

Abysmal service. Some of food delivered to wrong table after waiting for over 30 minutes in a mostly empty (clearly for a reason) restaurant. Once they figured out the mistake it took another 15 minutes to get the food remade and brought to the table. Meanwhile, my $30 wagyu beef fried rice was greasy, the steak was overcooked and the portion could barely be considered to be side-sized - certainly not worthy if its entree designation or its price. My food was gone before the four sushi rolls finally made their way to the table. No apologies, no offer to “make it better” by at the very least offering a free dessert much less some sort of discount for the error. Won't be back - so much competition in Troy - definitely better offerings to choose from - can't believe how much this place has declined.

We haven't been here in a while and SOOO HAPPY WE STOPPED IN! Was told menus have just changed this month. We ordered a bunch of items off the happy hour menu and a couple of drinks at a VERY AFFORDABLE RATE. Happy hour is ALL DAY MONDAYS AND TWO TIMES A DAY WITH EVERYTHING 3, 6 or $9!!! Edamame, burger, macadamia nut chicken, chicken fried rice and two margaritas with tip was less than $60 and was the perfect amount of food! Sat up at the bar and it was still a very intimate quiet area! They have a television which had football on which was nice for my man to have LOL even though it was an old game. I jokingly asked if we could change it and our waitress Lisa said yes but we didn't just in case we have non football fans! Bathroom was clean and nicely decorated. The patio area was open and fans were on so the temperature was perfect! Can't wait to go back again!

The food was good, and the prices of the happy hour were great, but the service was poor. It started wrong when we requested a table in the "terrace" area since we saw that 2 were open but required cleaning... and they did not accommodate our request. Inside is very dark and the AC is at the max, so it's really cold, the service was slow, especially for the drinks, we lost the last 20 minutes of happy hour. I won't not recommend the place or come back again.

Service from Jenna was awesome! She was very attentive and pleasant. Unfortunately the food was overall poor. The sushi rolls were terrible didn’t even stay together and were missing ingredients. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but after 2 times in a row the food was subpar I don’t think I’ll ever go back. The prices were also really high.
