The last time I came here was on Wednesday, but the store was closed. I finally tried it this time, and it was pretty good. The taste was more salty and spicy, which was in line with my taste. I will come here next time.

I am sorry to say that I dined at Royal Palace today, formerly East Lake and it was Not Good. There was hardly anyone there, but it was 2:15 pm so the lunch crowd was finished by then. Upon entering, I was greeted by the hostess no problem, then I sat and waited and waited. Finally the hostess came to take my order. I wanted to eat Dim Sum, but after 2:00 pm, the carts are finished so I ordered Dim Sum off the menu. After ordering and while waiting for my food, the waitress finally came to the table and asked for my order. I told her that I've already ordered. When my food came, the waitress was talking on her cellphone using AirPods. Just talking away while she was serving me, not caring about her customer whatsoever. This was the first for me, being served while my server was talking on her cellphone. Pretty rude and uncaring I would say. Then to boot, the Dim Sum was greasy! The whole idea of having Dim Sum is to have a healthy steamed meal. East Lake was better. Sorry to say, I will not be returning.

My crispy squid was uncomfortably sweet. The noodles didn't have much flavor. The pork belly wasn't tender.I liked the dim sum, though.

I had a terrible experience at the royal palace of Troy, also known as 豪庭. We were seated at table E4 by a hostess, and although there were only a few tables that had already placed their orders, the restaurant wasn't very busy. However, we ended up waiting for 10-15 minutes while tables that arrived after us were served. We decided to take matters into our own hands and had to flag down a server to take our order. Initially, we were informed that a cart would come around later for us to order dim sum style, which we were fine with. Considering the restaurant was somewhat busy, we understood that it might take a little longer. However, every time the lady pushing the cart passed by, it felt like she was purposely trying to annoy us. She never asked us if we wanted anything, completely disregarded our presence, and didn't even make eye contact.Meanwhile, tables that arrived after us were enjoying their drinks, meals, and dim sum. It seemed as though they were following the same dialogue . This disappointing experience has made me reconsider recommending this restaurant to anyone, despite being a loyal customer who has frequented it for quite some time. Moreover, this is not the first time I've had a negative encounter, and considering the negative reviews from other patrons, I am now hesitant to recommend it to others.

Don’t order carry-out. It’s a good place for dine-in but very bad for carry-out. We ordered spicy lamb bones pot. It’s much less (just half) than the usual we got in the restaurant and most of the meat is fat. Very disgusting!

My family and I went there for Christmas. We came around 12:20 p.m., and the place was packed. My sister and I got there earlier than everyone else, so we asked if they had a table for nine. We waited for a couple of minutes for a table to be available. After seating us, we waited for the rest of the group to arrive (we all came separately). After we were all seated, they started bringing carts for us to choose what to eat (which, along with most of my family—five out of nine people—it was our first time experiencing this style of service, and I was confused with what we were picking and eating). After the third cart, we finally asked for some menus. The waitress gave us two menus, and it took us a couple of minutes to look over and order. She never came back to check on us, so we had to get the attention of the male waiter so we could order. We end up ordering six dishes for the group. He said it was going to take 15-20 min, so we waited and talked (that was when my brother-in-law found out on their menu that they were charging 18% on service charge for the table of 6+; YIKES; wish they showed us that, lol). After waiting for 30+ min (it's fine, I'm understandable, it was busy, and we did order six dishes). They finally brought our food; the male waiter cleared the table (of the dishes; we ate earlier with the carts); they brought only five of the dishes, so we had to tell him they were missing an item. The food was meh to ok-ish—at the very least, it was edible (the best thing I ate was the white rice though, lol). The waitress kept leaving and disappearing from us. We kept having to get the attention of the male waiter (sorry, my man, appreciate you, thou). We finished and left. It cost over $200! The food is a little pricey. They charged $19 for a pork dish! It was my first time here. I'm sorry, but I won't be coming back. The restaurant, the experience—and it just wasn't for me. A 2-star service solely for my man!

Night of 12/25/2023. We’ve been waiting for 40 minutes, they brought all food separately for everyone. I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein, i’ve been waiting for 40 minutes for it and they all missed my order. My Christmas is destroyed. Will never come back! Service is horrible starting with servers and finishing with cooks!

My friends really love this place and most of the food is pretty good but I would not take anyone with a restricted diet here. I am pescatarian and still had a really hard time finding stuff that was safe to eat. Most of the foods are absolutely fine for meat eaters but I got pretty sick from cross contamination of meats with the sea food (it tastes like things were steamed in chicken broth or in the same water as other meats) Also things that were called "taro" or "sticky rice" still had pork meat or chicken in them so they are not safe for vegetarians, vegans, or pescatarians. However, if you are lucky and have no illness when eating meats, it is a great place to try out!

It is a terrible place to go. This restaurant's service is too bad since I found a bug in the rice and I called the restaurant right away, the attitude of the clerk towards me was unacceptable and mean and even didn't say sorry. Think about your health, and keep far away from the restaurant.

I love this spot, and it's become a bi-weekly goto for my family. The staff is great, the dining room is charming, and the quality of food is awesome. We tend to come for dinner (though we fully intend to make it for a proper dim sum cart meal service), but love that there is still a limited dim sum availability so we can get our egg tart fix. Without fail, I'm ordering the garlic salt fried tofu, soy sauce noodles, and peppered chicken and leaving full and happy. I also really appreciate that their menu has a balance between Americanized and traditional Chinese food as it can be difficult to find a spot that doesn't lean fully one way or the other.

Coming from Oakland in the San Francisco Bay Area I was looking for some great Chinese food. Wow did royal palace deliver. We had chow fun, dim sum, peppered chicken and salt and pepper tofu and I'm already making reasons to make the 30 min drive back here. The service was great. Our server was polite friendly and had great suggestions. We are looking forward to trying the cart service for the dim sum, and I'm sorry there are no food pictures a I was so excited when they brought us our food that I just started digging in. Inside the restaurant is nicely set tables, some with lazy Suzans and I love the red cups the water comes out in. Very nostalgic to my childhood. This is the best Chinese food we've found here in Michigan and can't wait to go back.
