The food was delicious I really enjoyed it

Years ago, I was a big fan of peri peri chicken at the Nando's chain in the Washington DC area on trips there. I was eager to try The Port of Peri Peri when a couple of them opened here. It is counter service which is fine. The chicken is the star here, nicely marinated and fire-grilled. Yummy. Medium spicy is a good starting point; it is fairly spicy already. The sides were fine, some better than others.

Unfortunately, the space was not well attended to. There were puddles of water on the floor from dripping condensation from the exposed air conditioning ductwork. An empty table next to us had dirty dishes and chicken bones and it was not bussed the entire hour we were there eating. Other tables were wiped but didn't look especially clean. My wife said the customer rest room was a mess. The glass on the doors at the restaurant's entrance was dirty and smudged with a day's worth of finger and handprints. Staff stood around a lot, obviously they would have had time to do some cleaning and bussing. The TV was annoying and the noise from the equipment in the open kitchen was loud.

I recommend the food, but maybe stick to carry-out.

The Peri Peri chicken was ok. Our kids meals included grilled flavorless chicken tenders and grilled corn on the cob that wasn't buttered or seasoned at all. They don't have salt if you want to season your own food. The casava fries were nice. Most of the silverware was dirty and the restaurant doesn't seem very clean. Used the restroom and there were oily boxes stacked near the entrance. Hard pass on this one.

The chicken was super juicy and full of flavor — I went with medium spice and it had the perfect kick. The peri fries and corn were great sides, and everything tasted fresh. It’s not always easy to find flavorful, high-quality grilled chicken with halal options, so this place is a go-to for me.

They ran out of Diet Coke in their system. Food takes forever and the sauce was running low. The quality has really gone down this year.

I went here with my wife because we were looking for something different, and we will not be coming back. When we walked in, the guy behind the counter looked like he didn't want to be there. He had his earbuds in and was watching something on his phone. He also never greeted us and we had to find a menu on our phones, only after we were ordering did he look up and offer us a menu. When looking at the grill behind him, it was coated in tin foil, which looks nasty. If you don't want to clean the grill, then don't be open. We ordered and went to look for a table, and with no one in there, you would think it would be easy to find something, but no, there was dirty trays with half-eaten food on several tables. When we did find a table, it was sticky and I had to wipe it down just to sit there. Once we were sat, we looked at the silverware, and it was all dirty looking and unwrapped in a wooden-looking tray on the table. Also nasty. Our food came out, and it was underwhelming. My breast and wing were the size of my palm but the leg and thigh my wife got was very good looking. The yuca fries were the best thing we got, they were crispy and well cooked. Once we finished out meal, we each went to the restroom and those were NASTY! Water everywhere, the door handles were dirty and sticky, and I didn't want to touch anything in there. We will not be back and have told many of our friends to avoid this place, and I hope this review gets to people so they can avoid it as well.

The food is somewhat expensive and portions are small compared to other places. But the flavor of the food can not be matched by any other restaurant I have tried. Recommend the wings with medium sauce and some garlic sauce on the side. Fries with seasoning as well. Absolutely delicious.

I had an amazing dining experience at Port of Peri Peri! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of grilled goodness set the tone for what was to come.

The ribs were the star of the show—so juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. What I loved most was the ability to customize the spice level to match my taste. Whether you’re a heat seeker or prefer a milder kick, they’ve got you covered.

The Peri Mayo Corn was a delightful surprise. The creamy mayo paired with the smoky, charred corn was an absolute flavor bomb. And those Peri Fries? Easily the best fries I’ve had in a long time. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned with their signature peri spices—they’re addictive.

Overall, the food, ambiance, and service were top-notch. Port of Peri Peri is now a go-to spot for me when I’m craving bold flavors and high-quality dishes. Highly recommend giving it a try!

First time eating here. I ordered the chicken rice bowl and hubby got the wings and fries.

The place was nice, very clean, but also very empty so that was a red flag.
The menu sounded good! The photos did as well.

The food was made to order, and was served hot so I gave 2 stars for that.

The food itself was not good. The sauces were even worse. Everything is ala cart, so we spent around $40 and didn’t enjoy the food at all.
The chicken was almost like rotisserie and then grilled, If you can imagine the texture. Sauces were very bitter, lacked flavor.

Finally found 100% halal place and super delicious, actually the food was beyond my expectations, ordered rice and chicken bowl with lemon and herb sauce, the sizzler and a meat burger. All were GREAT, the employees are so nice.
