“We love having The Ark right across the street from the Tavern restaurant in Westphalia! It’s become our go-to spot for a sweet treat after dinner especially on a warm Michigan evening.
The ice cream is fantastic, creamy, full of flavor, and they have a great selection of classic and unique options. The portions are generous, and everything tastes super fresh. My family (especially the kids) always looks forward to picking out their favorites.

“A very friendly bar that we have loved to go to for probably the last 10 12 years. The owner is a great gal and the clientele are always friendly. Schafers always feels like at at home bar. We have no problem driving from Portland Westphalia to have a cold beer or a drink it's certainly worth it. I have met so many wonderful people here over the years. We do not mind that they don't have food because we always run down to Diana's and get subs and Schafer's doesn't care if you eat them there.”

“Great little find just a drive off the freeway. Driving across the state and decided to pass the array of fast food at exit 77 and see what the town had. Don Jose is right on the river, with river views. Service was quick and food came out fast. We were in and out in 30 minutes. Grear portions too, left full.”

“This place is a cool little spot. A few tables and a bar, divey in a good way. All the drinks are in cans and bottles. The guys who served us (and the whole place) was always moving, polite, funny, and quick. The place was full so the food took about 20-25 minutes but well worth it. Huge portion sizes, we got a burger, a Philly cheese steak sub, and a half order of fries. The food was great and the half order of fries was about 4 regular portions, so come hungry. The place was clean and ran like a well oiled machine, we'll definitely be back again!”

“We stopped in while passing through town and we are so glad we did. The beer selection had something for everyone! We shared a flight and each beer was better than the last. The staff was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the brewery itself was so laid back and had such a cool vibe. We ended up ordering a snack which was also amazing. Can’t recommend this brewery enough. We will make a point to visit next time we are nearby.”

“My daughter and I was out thrifting Monday looking for some place to kill a few minutes and stumbled onto the Chocolate Moose. Oh my, what a delightful surprise. We listened ass. The owner told us how her son had made the ice cream since he's been 12 years old for the last 7 years. We enjoyed a delicious bowl of their Maple walnut flavor creamy with just the right touch of flavor. The menu and prices were amazing. What are quaint little shop tucked in the heart of a small town, well worth the drive.”

“We had lunch at Olivera's today: it was great! Our server was very timely and pleasant, and the food was delicious. I had the bacon burger, rare (it was just right!), without the bun and with a house salad. I considered a double burger but was glad I did not...it would have been too much! The burger was seasoned as good as any I have ever had. My wife enjoyed her boneless wings, and the artichoke appetizer dip was excellent: hot, cheesy and creamy with nice pieces of artichoke. “My wife had the olive burger with fries. I had a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. Everything was excellent. The burgers were juicy and flavorful. Reasonably priced. Angie, the waitress, is outstanding. Very enjoyable.”

“We aren’t from Portland but make the drive because we love the atmosphere. Crystal is amazing with kids and whenever we ask our two kids where they want to eat they go just to see her. The outdoor area overlooking the river is really nice too!”

The line can get a bit long during morning rush or on the weekends, but the employees do a good job of being friendly and making great coffee. “This is the best subway around! They have the best service and are very quick. Samatha is the owner and is the best at making her customers happy! Kinda pricey sometimes but definitely worth it. And if you get the chocolate chip cookies heat them up for 10 seconds, delicious! ?”

“I worked retail for a long time, and I have a thing for excellent customer service. Not over-the-top exaggerated service - but creating genuine interactions with our guests by speaking to them as if they are just a person instead of the next task in line. It’s more nuanced than it sounds, and also not common.. but most things that leave an impact aren’t. Maybe its rarity is what makes it so special.

Tyler provided a level of customer service that any customer-facing business should be thrilled to have in the house. I’ve heard of a sandwich artist.. But a sandwich friend? In this economy?

“Looking at the other reviews seems like locals may have different opinion than I. However, I believe this is the last Good Burger King anywhere.

I swung by last night after seeing Stavros at 20 Monroe Live and the food was Amazing. My double whopper was made as i wanted it to be and the awesome flavor took me back to childhood.

So so great. To anyone who was dissatisfied, try Burger Kings in other cities. This Burger King is the best hands down.”
