I was waiting for a ride at the Uhaul and no dining area was available anywhere and lo and behold The Golden Egg was open!!!! Awesome food and staff and atmosphere in here while I waited for my ride. I will be coming back!

Good food. Terribly slow service. Sat at the counter, given menu immediately. Downhill from there . . . Took 28 minutes to get my over-easy eggs and potatoes. Women next to me sat down 17 minutes after me, got hers one minute after mine, and guy next to me the same as hers. Nice people, hard-working, but seemed that they were pushing a LOT of to-go orders ahead of mine. Leaves a "bad taste" in one's mouth . . .

This is the quintessential American diner, and the food was fantastic. I got the country skillet and my friend got the veggie skillet and both knocked our socks off with how good they tasted. Not to mention the good value for the price !

I always love coming to The Golden Egg. The employees are warm, welcoming, and personable. I can tell they genuinely care about every guest. Recently I came with a friend and sat at the bar for the first time. We were long cashed out but still checked on very frequently by our server, other servers, and one of the cooks as we were sitting at the bar. The food is hot and delicious!
This is a great diner, BUT, I ordered a hamburger patty. The waitress asked me how I’d like it done. That was a weird question, so I said “just regular” as in whatever you guys do regularly. She said “medium or well done.” I said “ok medium.” She said “not well done?” At this point I hesitant, but I went ahead with medium. 12 hours later, I am having a digestive problem. A burger patty never should be served undercooked, and it is irresponsible that the waitress made it a choice.

Great classic diner. Can only speak to the breakfast. Quick and polite service even though it was packed. Love being able to see the short order cooks work the griddle. Very reasonable prices, great prices if you're early in the day as breakfast items are on special. Delicious grits, wish more places had this as an option.
