My father brought my brother and I to lunch here back in the early 1960s. I have been coming here ever since. I was just there three weeks ago, and it's still as good as it was way back when. The price is great.The service is great. I always get the cheese steak with extra cheese and peppers on the side. The employees very good and polite. If you're thinking I'm going for lunch. You might have to wait in line for 4 or 5 minutes but I promise you, the wait is well worth it. I always tell people if they ask where to go in the area.I always recommend gabriel's. So do yourself a favor hop on michigan avenue and head east from downtown Ypsi. You can't miss the little place on the left.

A cramped take out joint specifically selling cheese steaks. AMAZING cheese steaks, a I frequently go here all the way from up north ans bring sandwiches back for my friends that are from the area. They taste great reheated, and even cold.
Make sure to get double cheese and light sauce for your first go.

The food is served hot & fast every time. A simple menu where everything on it is well done.
All the workers are friendly and accommodating.
Inside is clean and looks just like the day it opened 60+ years ago. Health Food inspections are posted next to the register. Always 100/100.
Highly recommend if passing through.
I enjoy extra cheese & onions , give it a try!
Also for take outs try getting it in a box to go instead of a wrap. Doesn't steam the bun as much.
