Awesome food. Definitely will be coming back.
Mauer Brothers’ is a great place to stop for a drink and meet with a friend or talk with locals. The people of Elba were welcoming, and the conversations were real. You’ll learn surprising stories about the people and places there if you take the time to listen. The bar is still owned by the descendants of the original owner from 1890, and there I learned the story of the Fire Tower and that of Black Bill of Elba (and saw his legendary trout mounted). Great food, great people, great atmosphere. Love to stop in on Fridays for their fish and shrimp special!
