Old Southern BBQ - Arden Hills (694 & Lexington)

The smell of the restaurant was amazing staff was friendly wait time was minimal however wasn’t super busy. We had the Texas beef brisket and soul bowl. Honestly the brisket was ok lacked smoke flavor and was kinda fatty and the corn bread was good the Mac and Cheese was actually the star of the show for me soul bowl had a lot of components flavor profile was lost not a great deal of smoke flavor but wasn’t horrible good but felt it could be better.

I ordered off of DoorDash and I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat and sides. Normally chicken isn’t a standout in a barbecue joint, but the chicken here is juicy flavorful and extremely clean looking. I particularly loved the potato salad and the tangy coleslaw. The corn bread muffin tops are delightful. this will be my new food obsession for at least 2 to 3 months thank God I’m a dash pass member.

Man shut this place down, before I end up on my 600lb life, telling Dr. Now I need another platter from here lol. Food is amazingly good, great customer service and great atmosphere. I got the 2 meat platter with chopped chicken and brisket with Mac and cheese. Everything was fresh, hot, flavorful, moisturized and left me very satisfied. Definitely recommend this place, if you don’t go or haven’t been, you’re missing out on.

This place is good! Food was amazing! Very different from Famous Dave’s so don’t expect it to be similar. The muffins tops were favorite! My husband loved the Mild and Tango bbq sauce. Coleslaw was a little dry but sill good! We got the Hog wild sandwich and sliced brisket sandwich! I give it a 9/10!

I reached out to the restaurant because I needed to track down a month-old receipt from a company lunch - food was phenomenal by the way- and Casey the GM was immensely helpful, even after closing time. Through a series of (my) mistakes I actually meant to contact another location, (lol geography) but Casey still took his time late on a Sunday night to help me track down the receipt info in their system and I was able to expense the lunch. Thank you Casey!

If you’re looking for legit BBQ, Old Southern BBQ Smokehouse is it! The food is absolutely fabulous. The brisket and Texas hot links are to DIE for — so good that I had to order a half pound of brisket and another Texas hot link to-go because I wasn’t ready to stop eating it. 🤤🔥

We ordered the “Que for Two,” and it was great! The only thing missing was brisket (just a heads up — it doesn’t come with that combo), but adding it separately was 100% worth it.

The staff was super friendly, and as a Texas girl, I definitely approve! And let me just say… the Southern Gal barbecue sauce? Incredible. 🙌🏼

We’ll absolutely be back and the staff was absolutely wonderful! Those sweet guy that took our order and the sweet girl that packed our order were both extremely welcoming!

I ordered a gift box of rubs and sauces for my husband for Christmas and so far everything has been great! One of the sauces came with a broken seal, I reached out and they promptly sent me a replacement and an extra bottle of sauce! Amazing sauces and customer service!

I’ll start by saying I got the chicken wings and they were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. I also got a hot link and it was fantastic. Admittedly it was so good I bought some of their spices and the Dixie Red BBQ sauce. My wife got the bbq platter and some sides. My favorite side was the creamed corn. Only complaint is they don’t have fries. If I lived closer I’d frequent this place.
