I saw another review put it perfectly that Yes, this is a hidden gem! I will be recommending before other places in town. Ate lunch here, friendly staff, not much of a wait, and the food was excellent. They also have a grocery, meat, and bakery section in this hidden gem. I will be back to try the other sections!

First and foremost: It's grocer with a taco shop in the back. I can't speak for the grocery part but I love their food. Best authentic Mexican in Austin for sure. The birria tacos are the best item on the menu IMO. They also have birria ramen (YUM) and a desert counter that always looks sublime. Yeah, it's not the fanciest place around and sometimes the cashier doesn't speak English. That's why you order with numbers. Don't come if you're not cool with that. ALSO, they make the food fresh so there's usually a 15-20 minute wait just like ANY OTHER sit down restaurant. If you're in time crunch or don't want to wait around for your food, call ahead and do pick up. I dine in and do pick up orders regularly and don't have issues. TLDR: no frills authentic Mexican in the back of a grocer. good tacos.
