The Salty Dog is one of our favorite places up north. We look forward to going each time we are at our cabin. Check before you go for open times; I suggest you call and not rely on Google or internet for hours.Burgers are good but I prefer the pulled pork sandwich. They also have a grilled prime rib special now and then. We caught it once and it was out of this world. They also have frosty mugs for tap beer, although the servers should always go to the bottom for the most frozen mugs!We hope they remain open for a very long time. Such a gem!

They weren't busy, still took a bit to get our beer. Our bartender told us we were being loud and obnoxious, we were just talking. We thought this was a bar, probably won't be going back there.

Ok, stopped at the Salty Dog because of the reviews. Should have questioned it when we walked up the ramp to the front door and there was a dirty mop hanging over the hand rail and buckets of old cleaning materials against the wall. Went in and found a table, ordered a few beers from a very limited selection and then ordered food. The four of us had Chicken Strip Baskets, a Reuben and I had the rib basket. I asked the server about the ribs, if they were fall off the bone or what. She said they were tender, so I went with that. The Chicken was dry, the Reuben was ok and the ribs were the worst I have ever had. Hardly any meat on the bones, very tough and just not much flavor. Needless to say, we will not be back to the Salty Dog. Giving it a 1 star is being very generous.
