This place has changed and not for the better. Ordered a takeout order of 6 entrees and a few sides. Struggled to properly communicate with the person taking our order. Was told they could not make a bean and rice burrito (we have ordered this for our son many times in the past), settled on a bean burrito with no cheese, no sauce. Was told 45 minutes until it was ready. We arrived at 35 minutes, there was no one dining inside the restaurant. Our food was ready and the food was already cooled/barely warm. Restaurant was dirty and cluttered looking for having no one inside and had a terrible smell of a dirty grease trap.
Got home and one of the entrees was entirely wrong, our son’s no cheese no sauce burrito was smothered in sauce and cheese. I called to see if they could adjust the charge on my card. Again difficulties communicating with the person on the phone. She said I had to come back to adjust, definitely didn’t have time for this. Decided my time was more valuable than the $15 missing entree and effort to go back.
The chips were small crunched up and stale, salsa was watery. Steak fajitas ordered by our group were terribly prepared/cooked. Tortillas were trashed, stuck together and nearly shredded.
The prices are higher for lesser quality food and service. This experience changed our view or desire on coming back for sure.

Atmosphere is great, decor great, service great, menu looked great, but the food and margarita were just really lackluster.
I ordered the Grande Burrito with steak and it came covered with a horrible cheese that seems pumped straight from a #10 Can. (Why do so many Minnesota places use this gross cheese sauce?) I come from Colorado and have never seen this cheese sauce there. The rest of the Burrito, after I scraped the cheese concoction off, wasn't bad but was just lackluster.
I asked the waitress to bring me out some crema mexicana and she brought out just sour cream, but she was awesome about it all. (And she also brought out a sample of the ranchero sauce when I asked her about it, which was nice of her)
The Margarita (ordered house, on the rocks, large size) which was HUGE. They have sm, md, lg. But again, not bad, but again, lackluster, definitely was pumped from a machine and not handshaken, had no real flavor to it. Also lg was $15.
Salsa was again, lacking some flavor. Chips were crisp and fresh for sure.
I need to try another dish next time I am down this way and see if it was just a one off bad day for them or me. Stay tuned....

I grew up coming here with my family in the early/mid 00s through about 2013. We would come here a few times per month for dinner. It was our families favorite place to go because of the super fast food and service. Plus we would come when they would have a mariachi band and enjoy the music. Over the last 10 years it’s really gone downhill. If you can believe it, back in the day people would be lined up in the entryway of the restaurant up to the hostess stand waiting for a table. Now with a family of my own we don’t come here anymore. I was visiting my parents and they wanted to come here for dinner. As soon as we got there I was reminded why I don’t like eating here anymore. The restaurant was warm, just enough to make you feel uncomfortable. The chips and salsa took 10 mins to come (before as soon as your butt hit the chair someone was bringing chips and salsa, and food came in 10 mins or less after ordering). The amount they service is very small for 4 people, we each got maybe 6 chips The margarita tasted watered down. The food we ordered was very bland. It is so disappointing to see what was once a top notch Mexican restaurant turned into such a shame. There was only one waitress to serve the entire restaurant (she had about 10-12 tables). The remodel they did years ago is so bizarre with all the yellow columns. It really makes you feel claustrophobic when the restaurant is already very small. I will have fond memories of coming here in it’s hey-day but I think I’ve finally frequented it for the last time.

I ordered, omitted some of the ingredients. Server doesn't understand English! Got dinner wrong. They brought it back to the kitchen and just picked off what I didn't want. I am allergic!!

I was in from Arizona! I was not impressed, but our waitress was wonderful. We ordered a bean burro, aka burrito - it was rolled like an enchilada with red sauce. Ordered a cheese crisp it was a quedila and was closed instead of open face. It swam in cheese, aka white cheese.

Carne asada horribly cooked, thin, dry, half-burned.
I’d only come again for some chips, guac + queso.

I've moved away from the Twin Cities region so when we came up to visit... This is one of the places I wanted to eat at.
Their staff is always friendly and the food is excellent. The large cheese dip tastes fantastic. I got 4 street tacos with carne asada. They were great.
We had a fun time eating there and I'd recommend it to anyone near the Chanhassen area to go there and dine.
