About Southern Social Chaska

Based on customer reviews, Southern Social in Chaska is a great restaurant with a big menu of southern dishes, from jambalaya, shrimp and grits, cat fish, to BBQ. The inside is gorgeous, with dark grey wood everywhere, very modern, and smells amazing. The space is much bigger than the old restaurant, with more booths and seating. The outside dining is top tier.

The food was great. The cornbread skillet was excellent. The chicken sandwich was awesome with quality chicken and super crunchy breading. The pickled deviled eggs were amazing. The brisket was great, not overly fatty and extremely flavorful. The half rack of ribs were equally as flavorful. The biscuits were great. The she-crab soup was packed with crab and rich. The shrimp po boy had great flavor. The Cajun Snapper was moist. The mac and cheese is pretty good. The sweet potato fries were tasty. Some items like the pimento Mac were bland and a little dry, and the brown butter cake was way too sweet.

Service was fantastic and excellent at times, with a sweet, attentive server. However, another visit had pretty bad service where the table was not checked on. Cocktails were forgettable. The bathrooms were clean. A wonderful spot in Chaska that’s worth visiting.
